I'm thinking about bying the ntc3. First what is the top speed stock? IS it 2 speed or one? How does it handle? And over all how does it perform? Thanks. I'm a newbie to touring so give all imput. Also how much would it cost for the 2 speed and the car all together.

the rtr version is only a one-speed. if you buy the kit, it comes with a two speed. the rtr will come out much cheaper but the kit is more fun and you get a lot of hop ups in the kit already.
if you get the rtr and want to buy a two-speed later on you can, its like 60 bucks i think. but you might as well spend more money up front for the kit and it will come out cheaper in the long run. that is unless you dont buy any hop-ups and stuff for the rtr.
as for top speed, i dont really know.

I think that I'm gonna get the kit because it sounds better. But if anyone can what is the top speed for the 2 speed tranny. (anywhere close for the top speed) But thanks

we dont post top speed for professional touring cars, since it is irellivent, acceleration is what is important, and handling. gearing and engine choice is what determains top speed. get yourself a runway, and even a duratrax streetforce can go 100mph with the right gearing and engine.

if you are looking for just speed out of the box, schumacher makes a .21 street car, and then there is always the 4-tec from traxxas. Like NA said top speed doesn't really matter, you will never get to wind out a touring car on a race track to get it to top speed.

Stock the RTR TC3 will do around 43. With the 2spd it'll do close to 50.

I am not too sure about the last post. I don't think the actual associated .12 will do that with just the 2speed mod.

go for the team kit, rear exsaust no pullstart set up.
then depending on what you spend on an engine you can easily get 50 60 plus...

I went with the team kit and originally had an OS .12 cvr-x. The car ran very well ... very quick! I changed out the mill for a .15 cvr ... screams and runs like a bat outta hell. Over all top speed only matters in a very large lot or long straight. But it's great for the parkinglot basher. Torque is very good too (both the 12 and 15).

Wish I had a radar gun to actually see the top speed on this car.:radio:

Listen up grasshopper.. Top speed is mainly for bashing. I have yet to see a track for 1/10 touring cars that have tons of straightaways. You want to build a car so it is quick to pull out of a corner or turn. I have a NTC3 and I am not about to say what my top speed is since its not relevant. gotta choose whether you are going to bash or race. Like it has been said you Can achieve a high speed with just about any car with the right engine , gearing and tuning and a long enough path!!!
