Converted my Nitro Rustler to electric. Was easier than I thought it would be. Now just need to test it out. Tell me what you think!!

Ok so today put a battery on it and it works. Tomorrow gonna do a road test. Need to do a little adjustment between motor and spur gear, a smig tight but all and all the wheels turn forward and reverse. My home made motor mount needs a little tweaking. I will report back and let you know. May even have to do a how to video. So simple and very little to no modification needed. Just a simple home made motor mount.

nitro to brushed? thought u would go brushless at least

Planning to. Wanted to make sure it would work.

Good stuff I converted a nitro to electric one myself several years ago. I just took a VXL transmission/motor mount and flipped it around backwards to have more of a mid motor design. I had to fabricate some angled shims to go under the tranny though because its slightly angled and in order to reverse the angle I had to make something that would correct the pitch. I love conversions and custom mods/builds. Keep up the good work. :)

Mounted a Brushless Spectrum Motor w/130a esc on the Rustler today. Amazing difference.

Update. My new chasis I made for my nitro to electric conversion.

Can fit and run 2 8000 mah 3s batteries parallel and get about 2 hours run time. With 2, 2s in series it’s nutty fast. Love my Rustler!!!!

I love the paint job on that body! Those battery trays make me nervous though :)

Works great. Have had no problems with batteries so far.
you're not worried that one time you're gonna go out to run it and the battery slips back a couple of inches and then gets caught up in the gears? Bare minimum you'll loose a lipo.

Still love the paint job. Makes me want to do one like that. I love the colors you picked in particular.

Bro I LOVE that paint job! How'd you do it? Also, love the fab work! This is right up my alley! I'm a machinist/welder/fabricator myself, so seeing people apply those skills in the RC world is one of my favorite things to follow. Can't wait to see what you do next; keep up the good work!
