Hello all,

My first post to this forum :) I'm not new to the wonderfully crazy world of RC actually I have 2 Trucks: HPI Savage 25 and a Heavily tricked out Traxxas Nitro Rustler 2.5!! Now I'm thinking of Hitting the pavement with an onroad car. . . and I am really impressed with Hobby Products International so I'm gonna purchase the RS4 3 EVO this weekend.

Here is a list of Upgrades some of which I already have from my other trucks:

-- Trinity fuel filter
-- Venom fail safe
-- 1200 Hump pack

ordering from Tower Hobbies:

-- HPI racing clutch
-- THS Racing On-Road Tuned Pipe
-- HPI high performance air cleaner

What I'd like to hear more input on is if you had $200 to spend on upgrades what would you choose? or what do you all think are the top Ten upgrades for the RS4?

BTW - I have plans for a topping it all off with the new Mustang bodyshell

200....here's what i'd aim for:

-Decent steering servo (futaba s3305 or something along those lines)
-primerless fuel tank
-Fuel filter(s)
-Reveiver pack
-Failsafe
-HPI/MIP racing clutch
-Vantage CF racing pipe (doesn't ding/dent)
-OS 18CV-R(x)**
-High flow air filter (motorsaver, etc)

**only when you feel the need for more power...there's no use in upgrading if you can't handle the car...it'll only add up to more repair costs.

Thanks man!

Cool! I'm on the right track then as I already have some of those things :) the upgraded steering servo is a good idea --

was thinking of this servo:
-- Hitec HS-5645MG High-Torque 2BB MG Servo

also, I had heard about the primer on the stock tank being a possible source of leaks. Have any links or part number for this upgrade?

That and the Vantage pipe is a good idea -- I have a THS pipe on my wish list at tower but the thought had occured to me about the possibility of scratches/dents to that shiny pipe :o Do you have a link to that pipe with a header setup to fit on a stock engine. . .I'll leave the engine stock for the time being.
However, I will be looking at gearing it for low end/acceleration power.

thanks again!

Hi again,

-The hitec servo should be okay for bashing...i've heard both good things and bad things about them but have never used them myself...

-The answer to the "primer leak" will cost you about $9. As soon as you see/sense the leak, get the $9 and go to your LHS and get the primerless one :)

-The vantage pipe will definitely fit the stock engine...just make sure to get the one for the RTR3..but a good gasket (AE ones from the NTC3) will do the trick in any case

-Finally, watch out when gearing the t-15...its good for learning, but might not have the power to pull off some of the more aggressive gearing options available for the nitro3.

Good luck and have fun

Hummmmm

OK,

Any links to the Vantage pipe and the primerless tank?? Saw some on Towers site just wasn't sure which one would be a direct replacement fit.

My LHS doesn't carry the parts I want it seems so I'd rather get it online.

Thanks again!!

Santana,

thanks again for the links. . .I saw that tank on towers site just wasn't sure about the dimensions and crossover from other models. I have it on my list now -- I'd read a few articles about the possibilities of air leaks from the stock tank so it'll be replaced before the break-in :D Oh and thanks for the pipe link -- I'll go for that pipe instead.

much thanks!!

No prob... but keep the original tank, you can use it as a spare..its just not as good as the primerless one
