This is interesting. Steve Pond is the senior technical editor at RC Car Action magazine, and an administrator at radiocontrolzone. He asked if anyone could calculate the forces on a nitro piston at 45,000 rpm (the speed of a small touring car engine).

A few guys tried for a couple days but kept missing the point of the question. I worked on it and found an answer - 12,000 g's, and an apparent weight of 240 pounds for a 9 gram piston and rod. See kids? Math can be fun!
