Hey guys I was just wondering I just got my savage 4.6 and I wana buy fuel tommorow but don't know to get 10% or 20% I know 20 runs better performance but 10% here in newyork is 10$ cheaper!

its not about the cost its about performance go 20 personally I use 30 harder to set needle but not to bad .I run a lrp 30 in a t maxx and it goes like a raped ape good luck

R U lookin to race or bash? Bashing you would be fine with 20%. Racing you can look at 30% for more power production but at a small cost of life from the motor. Typically from my experiences you will burn hotter but produce more power with the 30% vs you will produce more than enough power with the 20% but save a couple $ with longevity of the motor. Also make sure you go with a quality fuel vs a cheap knock off. Byrons, Odonells just to name a couple good ones. Personally I think Traxxas is a pathetic fuel but thats just my .02. Its about your budget along with the highest quality you can afford

I personally run 20% in all my nitro rigs. I live in New York and due to the colder temps, I would not break in my engine unless it's 50 degrees out. If you do decide to break in your engine, you're going to need a new motor come spring time. Just my honest opinion of 10 plus years in the hobby.

Not stupid, just learning. At least you asked. I also run 20% in my rigs.

wrong running 10 is not being stupid its playing safe if you are happy with the performance of your rig who is to say different . sorry

Not sure wha rubbed donf wrong today but were just letting you know about our experiences. Nobody called anyone stupid and that wasn't anyones intent. Running 10% is fine if thats what you choose. Were simply letting you know about OUR EXPERIENCES and OUR OPINIONS. After all donf - thats what alpinestars asking for - OPINIONS! not judgement. We'll save that for the Monitors of the site. They do a pretty thrifty job of policing us. :)

20% nitro / 12% oil is going to be your average answer. I don't know that I would even try 10% fuel. Your rig and your $$$ so ultimately it's your call. I just wouldn't try it.

I haven't seen many fuels with 10% nitro for trucks, are you sure it's not airplane or heli fuel? generally it has too much oil and won't work well for land based rc's. If it is for nitro trucks then there is nothing wrong with it other then the tuning window will be a little smaller and the engine may run a little warmer, not a big deal. Usually as you go up in nitro % the tuning becomes more easy, the engine will run cooler and because your adding more oxygen, the tune is a little more rich which will help the engine last longer. You don't need to run 30% but you will get the best performance overall if you do.

I have read a lot of guys in Europe run lower percentage than us like 10% as it's more readily available.

20% will make it easier to get going and easier to tune than 10%. If this is your first, then I'd suggest the 20% until you get a feel for how things work. Then you can change to 10% later if you like. It won't hurt the engine, it will just need retuned a bit for the lower percentage.
