Hi there,
I've bought a used MT2, all is running but there is no brakes at all. I've attached a photo of the set up. Any help will be appreciated!

Well no photo but you can probably find the brake assembly on eBay. I have this truck and it is simple to replace. Hardest part is lining up the plates ans discs to get the 2 screws in lol.

That's a great truck, I love mine. But anyway, you may just need to adjust the thumb screw.

Thanks! I will give the thumb screw a fiddle with, I'm yet to take it for a proper test drive as my glow plug needs replacing. I did however manager to crash it into a wall due to the throttle being stuck open lol...(think the carb slide was to blame)

This will be my first mt2 (owned a savage before)..a lot say the mt2 are great though :)

I'll tell ya, the best thing I did for mine was get aluminum steering knuckles. The truck is really quite tough except for the stock steering knuckles. Just fyi.

Front suspension arms aren't something to brag about either. Good thing you got the mt2 tho, much easier to find parts than original one.

Well one problem is all that oil from nitro all over around the motor I'm sure thats all over the brakes. Clean that oil(take the motor off along with break system) and try tightening the two screws holding the brakes to tighten the caliper a little bit Then see what happens.

I took the "no brakes at all" literally, oops lol.

+1 to all of the above advice.

Thats y you put the setup on the screws first then mount them up

Also at op you could need to adjust your throttle/brake linkage a little to get the most out of your brakes.

Oh I do I just fumble a lot lol. I may have mistaken my hpi for another rig. One of mine has dual disks, forget which one lol

Yeah I used to do that, got lazy over.time tho and quit breaking down so often. I'm down to one nitro which is my mt, can't get rid of it. Such a cool rig. I have the rs4 arms and suspension parts with the 2 speed. Simple.to convert it to street. Just such a cool car for its time.

The pads and disc is there but there's no movement on them, only when I manually push the pads together.

The car was kind of neglected, owner took it for a drive now and then and left it stand full of mud... I did clean a lot of muck and oil off the car but it needs a strip down and rebuild.

I'm planning on adding new parts to it so if you have any good mod recommendations then that would be handy :D

Just took the little plastic bit off that holds the long arm by the thumb screw, and there was a metal thread, seems that this was seized so I got it moving with some pliers and all is good now!
