I bought a bottle of Sidewinder 20% nitro last summer/fall that maybe got taken out 2 times last year. Its sat on a shelf in a book case in my house all winter and spring. Now its a light red almost a pink color. Does this mean the fuel has gone bad already and should be thrown out or is it just the dye changing and the fuel is fine? I can't imagine the fuel would have went bad just sittting on a shelf for 6 months or so?

I was told by my LHS that one way to find out if your fuel is still good to use is to shove your nose in the bottle of fuel and take a wiff, if it burns your nostrels and you can still smell the nitro, its still good. I tried this on my new bottle of fuel, and it did burn my nostrils but I dont know how good this could be for you or even if this is a very good method for checking the quality of your fuel. If it is already 6 months old, I would just suck it up and buy a new jug.......sucks I know, but why take a chance when it comes to your motor?

i would think its just the dye changing colour ...was it sealed good ?? i would give it a good shake and try it out ..worst thing that can happen is that it wont run good ..

Well I ran a couple tanks through my rustler so far and it seemed to work ok but i havent tried any more than that. It seemed ok. It was sealed in the sense that it had the original cap on it the whole time.
