Nitro Fuel Longevity

How long will an unopened can of nitro last till it goes bad? the reason I ask is my brother bought a can of Trinity monster HP nitro from his LHS and as far as he knows its new, but the last time I bought some of the same nitro it came in a plastic jug, so I wondering if the fuel he bought that came in a can is way old and thats why its know good, the can was all sealed up when he got it, he got some new fuel of a different brand and the motor ran great so the only thing he could figure it could be was an old can of fuel that went bad on the shelf....

the thing with a can is it holds cold better. cold attracts moisture which ruins fuel. Plastic does this too but at a much slower rate.

I've had fuel that was 2 years old and still burned like new.

The key is to store it in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight, off concrete.

And, they still sell trinity in a jug.... The cans' just didn't take off like they hoped.

My brother's is in a can and mine is in a jug,which makes me think his is old,and no good.

I just burend off the last of a gallon I had from about a year ago a few weeks ago at the track. Still ran like new. I would just try running it, if it dosent work, go get a new jug.

He tried it in his XXXNT and his 1/8th scale buggy with poor results, got different fuel and they go like hell now, its just that he only bought the fuel a month ago so it's hard to just throw away $30 worth of fuel, I told him to use it for weed killer....LOL!!!!
