:hammer: i have a nitro evader with the o.s 18 and a week after i got it the motor puked on me so i sent it in for warrenty and they sent it back and about a week and 4 tanks of fuel the motor puked again so i orderd a megatech 16 and wow wut a differents can anyone tell me if the new motor is good or not

What was going on with the .18? You should try another OS .18 from tower hobbies or something, because those engines have a great reputation.

i sent it in again and they said that it is running to hot but i have a on board temp gaige and it has never ran over 265degrees and they sent it back i got it a few days ago and put it in another car i built and broke it in and now it has the same problems it had be4 i wonder if its the motor or wut its a DTX.18????????????????????????

I'm pretty sure the dtx.18 and os are 1 in the same. How did that megatech 16 work out for ya?was it fast?I've heard from a few people they are not too good,I'm asking because i have a brand new one in a box that i was gonna run in my nmt.My lhs told me it was a good engine. peace

this is gonna sound funny ,but 4 tanks on a dtx.18 isnt even past break in yet ,they take atleast 6 tanks to finish total break in the set needles for performance , i had 2 evaders and niether of mine had a problem, first had 2 gallon thru it ,had a run away with ti it temped at 390 ,,so i set it in the replaced it ,
the dtx is made by os .they have a 2 year warranty on them, i would stick with the .18
please do not take me wrong here, but you have to be doing something wrong ,they should not blow-up in just 4 tanks and esp not be running 265 on the 4th tank
not good ,you need to run them 240 tops ,,adjusting your hsn out to if memeory serves me right 3 turns out from snug is the stock setting i never took mine past 3/8th in from stock and it would pull wheelies all the time ,send the .18 back in and explain whats going on ,and they will replace it ,and follow the break in to the letter ,and add a few tanks to the break in ,then it should be fine ,
hope that helped,
take care rick

btw: if you havent run the megatech yet take it back or save it for a basher ,never heard anything good about them .i seen 1 run and they had nothing but problems with them ,
just my :2cents:

Dont "snug" the needles down, EVER! They bend very very easily. Just go to a point where it kinda "stops".

well i gave the megateck16 in now and its runs like a dream and i havnt had any problems yet but with the 18 i just bought a new piston and sleeve to try it out one more time and if it doesn't work i will not be happy and use the motor for a PAPER WEIGHT on my desk.....and also i was talking about 4 tanks after break in becuz one of my friends that own a hobby shop close to me broke it in while i was there and it didnt run that good there
