That is a 1/8 scale buggy ,it will smoke that Tmaxx!..:hehe:
Of course it will smoke the maxx.. race buggy up against a big Ole truck. But the maxx will just run it over it at the finish Line.. GAME OOOVVERRRR...

I dunno - but I bet we figure it out
well, once I get the T-Maxx back as rolling stock, I'll dig into this one. Ended up breaking more stuff on the T-Maxx than I thunk.
Nice buggy man👍..the string was broke or you broke it...that doesn't always mean motors seized. Did you try heating it up and turning it over yet? Oh so what else was part of the carnage of the post??

Hit a fence post pretty dang hard. Was on grass running fast and what I’ve discovered is - when running fast on grass it takes a big wide turn. I guess even though the wheels are turned the forward force is still scooting it across the grass. When I need to turn I just need to slowdown and it turns just fine

That a pretty good rig?
I've never owned that particular buggy but HoBoa is the same thing as OFNA and I love OFNAs. I've had/have a couple of their buggies over the years and they are good quality kits and they make parts for their cars for years unlike some manufacturers who basically kill part support when they discontinue their models. I'm not really a racer but I believe they are competitive racing kits. OFNA is the brand name which HoBoa sells their kits under in the US market. Same company, same kits tho.

You should see some of their other old stuff from back in the day ,like the Twin Titan & the Pirate!..:thumbs-up:
Looking those up right now.

Ok, so I lied. I remember the Titan Twin! A friend had one. That thing was the coolest RC I ever saw. Don't think I ever saw the Pirate though.

These times ,there is so many off brand crap out there it is hard to identify them ,however ,the
ones that have been out for years will have a distinctive look about the parts & design!
What gave the look of that one away was the head of the engine ,but then again ,that dont mean
nothing because people swap out parts on them!

Hoboa has actually designed a new style starting system on a 30 size engine ,I may buy that Hoboa
engine for one of my MT's!..

Yeah, this buggy has that look for sure. I am used to the old Kyosho's, RC10's, and Losi kits. Remember the Kyosho Vanning?

I wish they would bring that one back, but maybe redo the ugly cage. It was the only thing keeping me from buying one years ago. Just seeing all the stuff @WideOpen has been sharing that his son bought, it looks like he was into nicer RC's.

Lot of that stuff is a collectors item ,I dont think that I could bring myself to put that through the test!..

I am with ya there. But as long as parts were avalable I never minded giving my cars a little run every now and then. I really miss all my old RC's ☹

That's good for them. I have this durn Jato that needs to be completely gone through. It's just finding the time and willpower to do it. I think when my son gets a little older we will get her going again. I have been buying parts slowly, just so I have extras.

The string was/is broken when I drug it out of the attic. Was (not any more) my son's. I called him last fall and he said "old stuff, toss it all"

Dude - that Twin is awesome

I am so glad you didn't toss it!

Well, I reached down and turned the flywheel over easy enough - guess the engine ain't locked up. going to pull the pull starter for starters.

Well, I could get to 3 out of 4 of the pull start bolts; but, just no way to get the 4th without pulling the engine. So, the engine is out.

whew - back for a spell, been busy at the Skeet Shoot events. That is really a lot of work. Anyway - yes I am still on this one. I did order a new pull start and it is installed. I also ordered a new string off ebay for Traxxas and rebuilt the original one for a couple of reasons 1) To see how hard it was, so if I ever find myself in a situation where I needed to rebuild one, I may have picked up a few lessons, I did. and 2) it was just a broken string - why toss it. 3) Now I have a backup on the shelf.

Have quite a bit of yard work to do today, but hope to take a break or two and get this engine mounted back in this rig and then go through all the little adjustments and tweak them. I do need to get a controller for this one - other than that old school Traxxas one that needs to have a frequency set, I am tapped out of controllers.

Welcome back bro! It takes me forever to complete projects myself cuz of all the other stuff I put time in to as well. I'm lucky if I get 8-12 hours a week to put toward RC/electronics stuff. I honestly dont know how you folks with kids have any time or money to do a hobby at all lol. Hats off to you guys with families who still manage :)

I totally agree. No reason not to just replace a broken string and learn a lil sumpthin' along the way :)

Well, I did not get to the Nitro today. Got a heck of a lot done in the yard though - starting to look somewhat respectable aging, not completely but at least you can tell that the address is inhabited. I have so much on the schedule - fishing, hunting, shooting, campering, and then somewhere in this mix I need to find time to take care of and clean all the toys from all of that stuff and - get this Nitro up and running. I'll make it happen...

Sounds like you have a full dance card. lol I know how that is. I have the same problem half the time :)
