Nitro 18ss Engine

hey i am getting the mt2 ss kit. in the kit there is the nitro star 18ss engine. it comes with a pull start. i have heard about a pull start conversion kit. could i convert the engine that comes with it to a roto start.

yes u can convert it to the roto sytem. i have the 18ss outlaw engine i love it so far.

hey what car do you have the 18 ss outlaw on. do you have it as a rotostart or pullstart?

i have it on hpi nitro mt -2 , i just used the same roto plate from m 15-t motor so yes i have a rotostart

thomas you can convert every enigne to roto or starting block as long as the cars frame allows it, and give's you access to insert the roto stick.

The T-15 roto works fine on the 18SS. I chose to go pull start over the roto though. I'm sick of carrying the roto around with me all the time when I'm out playing.

page 41 of manual - part number 87121 is the back plate needed for the engine to be converted to roto start. I have not had problems with the pull start, but I will probably convert to roto start at some point.

after 5-7 pulls for a prime...

mine usually starts after 2-3 pulls.
