Yes, I gotta thing for chap rc cars. I own a couple of HBX and so far I’m happy. Take into account that I don’t “bash” like most. I usually run mine on a huge packed dirt parking lot. Anyhoo, I’ve been thinking getting a larger scale car, about 1/10 or 1/12. I have spent days researching and got to two options. Please help me decide.
Hbx 2997a or Rlaarlo omni terminator.
Third option would be a Rlaarlo x12 buggy.
Thanks 👍👍

Was just recently deciding between the HBX 2997a and the Omni Terminator. I don't think you can go wrong either way. I ended buying the Terminator carbon edition because it looks like it handles better than the HBX and I was able to pick one up for under $200 on an Amazon flash sale. I don't have much to compare it to but I've been super impressed with the speed, power, and handling of it. I'm grateful for it being just a mini 1/10 scale (1/12 really), as it's almost too big for bashing just out in front of our house. I found the Derby City Youtube comparison really helpful if you haven't seen it already.

I did end buying a 1/14 MT16 (ZD's version of the ROG1) as well due to poor impulse control and because the OT needs more space than my little front yard for tricks/flips off of our ramp. I haven't had a chance to run it yet as it's been too cold but I think the size is right in the sweet spot for the limited space I have. The OT is incredible when we take it down the street to a nearby construction site and the increased size makes it so much more capable - soaks up the bumps, jumps off the dirt and gravel piles like a champ, and just flies.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the info, I guess either would be a good choice. I did run into a guy that claims his family owns HBX and I can get the 2997a for a bit cheaper, so far he has been able to help me out with parts and support. But…the omni terminator looks just so bad arse!! 3s power is a bit intimidating since I like crawling a bit more but I guess I could run it on 2s.
I never heard about LC racing but I will give it a check.
I will update you guys soon.
Thanks

i would like to get a terminator, i havent driven a rllarlo yet. but the hbx is a blast! easy to work on if not the easiest to get parts for,
I've broken and repaired mine a few times, its currently out of commision due to other projects
it is fast and east to control, it handles jumps really well ( i personally sent mine thru hell)

Guess what I picked up today…guess! 😀

If the rain calms down tomorrow I’m taking it to the park!
I’m refilling the shocks, I will grease the diffs tomorrow and I will gorilla tape the body. Can’t wait!
Thanks guys.

and reinforce that body!!!!!! omylanta mine got so beat up
but then i bought one and just threw some shoe goo in it cause that was all i had on hand at the time

Done and done!! Like my 3100a this one needed a better controller. I decided to get the fs-gt5, plus I reinforced the body. It’s been rainy and muddy plus the fires were so bad but I will take it out for a spin soon. I want to upgrade the tires at some point but the only ones that are the same size are the ones for the traxxas rally (7473X), not sure if they’re a good option for dirt driving.

I decided to get the 2997a, i might get it in a couple of weeks so I’ll let you guys know.
Let me know. You can't find them anywhere. Contacted hbx and they are working to get more out. I love 1/12 and its a 3s from hbx who usually makes 2s. It might be the holy grail of 1/12s for me if usual hbx tanky AND 3s.

Hello, I did get it…I didn’t quite like it so I ended up selling it. There is nothing wrong with it but the battery time of a 1/10 is relatively short. I prefer anything mini.

Y cable and 2 batteries :)
Might need to buy some cut to size velcro for $7 bucks. Solved my battery issues.
