I'm gonna run my STS .28 on my storm this weekend with a 18T CB. Its gonna run like a scalded dog. It may not be the smartest thing to do..but i gotta try it. I will get it on video!!!!!

Has anyone else ran a 18T on your buggy before?

That's a lot of power and a lot of teeth. Should run as you stated...like a scalded dog.

Issues to consider, engine alignment with the bigger clutch bell on it versus the spur gear of the tranny. Make certain things are squared up and that you have the engine properly locked down.

As for experience with that particular size clutch bell and engine combo, the only person I know that played with that kind of set up has left the hobby for a bit. I'll see if I can dig up any of his past comments or see if he'll come back to comment on this.

Good luck...

The only problem I see with running an 18 tooth or a 16 tooth is your clutch shoes. You might notice that they will slip, but other then that your going to get some serious speed out of those rides!

sky..so far everything looks like it may line up properly, however, the teeth on this paticular CB are much shorter than my 16T...so it will remain to see if i can get proper mesh, I havent locked the motor down yet.

Beason....i will have the other CB on hand..if this works..you can use it...but I'm not sure how well i will like this setup... i may not be able to control it or with the added teeth i may suffer acelleration..then the 16 will have to go back on...but yeah if it goes well, u can use it till u get one for you....no problem bud

vb..thanks man.i will keep an eye out for that.
