Got a HPI RTR RS4 3 and in the process of breaking motor in and noticed that the car only will go about 30 feet then i lose control,,,like i have no more distance,,,,question is,,,i know the batteries in the transmitter are new,,,,but the batteries in the car are questionable,,,,would this cause this? or is this another problem?

Low batteries in the receiver or transmitter will cause this issue. Make sure the antenna on both the Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX) are fully extended, and on the TX the antenna is screwed in all the way.

2 products to consider are a rechargeable battery pack for the RX and a failsafe to keep from going out of control if you loose the signal.

Good Luck

If anything, get a failsafe! it's worth the money, especially if your wife or girlfriend is playing with it, panics and thinks that turning off the radio will turn off the car!

Needless to say, my wife will NEVER be able to use my r/c again. She has to buy her own!

Also, just installing the failsafe in-line isn't the last step. Make sure to set the failsafe so that if you lose transmition, it applys the brakes. I use the OFNA failsafe.

To set it, just get a paperclip and unbend it, turn on your receiver and radio; apply the break and press the set button with the paperclip.
