20 minutes into breaking in the engine. The engine idle's for about 15 second and then it just revs up very high, clutch engages and after 10-20 seconds it goes back to the normal idle. sometimes I have to lean the ISS to get the idle back down and then it dies, unless I turn the ISS back once the RPS slow down? What is the cause?

Welcome to the boards, sorry to hear you're having problems with you LST-2. It sounds to me like you have an air leak, thats a really common cause to some of the issues you are having. Both the fuel tank and fuel filter on the lst2 are known for leaking. Replace the fuel filter with a Big Daddy and also remove the primer from the tank carefully and then seal the hole in the top that it leaves with some rtv or JB weld. Moving on from there this: "Finding air leaks" thread has some great tips for finding and sealing air leaks. Last but not least I would print out this tuning flow chart and keep it handy as its a great tool for learning how to tune.

Good luck and keep us posted on how its going:)

New engines also react funny. After you get 4 or 5 full tanks through it, tune is likely to be an issue. Just get it running, keep it running for full tanks and try to tune to get your temps up around 220. Make sure to put the piston at BDC and let it cool down between tanks.

also remember to mess with your trim this also may be a cause for a high idle
my engine is broken in though, but sometimes when i dont give it throttle my servo acts a little funky and my engine revs up untill i give it a tiny tap of throttle and the servo closes the carb so the idle goes down!!!

hope i could help
