I was just wondering if its ok to run my car in cold weather if I use a hot glow plug?

Is this how it works? Hot Weather=Cold Plug, Cold Weather=Hot plug?

Its been in the High 40's (if you can call it High) is this too cold to safely run my engine? Or should I wait for spring? I just finished puting it together and excited about running it!

I run mine in like 20 degree weather:thumbsup:

I also broke it in in december. COLD

You shouldn't need to change your plug. You will need to tune your car for the current weather conditions.

Be careful, the cold weather makes the plastic brittle and even a minor impact may cause broken parts.

I ran my RS4 3 in about 25 degree weather, I did not change the plug and it ran fine. If you can, heat the engine with a hairdryer before trying to start it in the cold. You will definately have to retune it for the cold weather though.

The hot weather=cold plug doesn't really work. What temp plug you use has more to do with the size of mill you have and the percentage of nitro you are running.

another note: I read somewhere that each manufacturer has there own standard for what constitutes a hot, meduim or cold plug. So a hot O.S. plug may be similar to a meduim plug from another maker. There is no industry standard.
