Tux, you are not going to get to learn to drive, especially turn, with a rustler. They have a very powerful engine but thet are not called a brick because of their durability, they are called a brick because they handle like one. IMO you would be MUCH better off just getting the RC10GT right from the start. If you read what that guy on Traxxas had to do just to get his to handle better, but still not good, and he had three times the cost of the RC10 in it. You might want to think twice. JMO

I have read some of the threads regarding the r/c 10 and their frequent breakage issues especialy in the steering componates and i have not seen or heard much about breakage on the rustler, other than the rear shock tower, i want the fastest, most durable rig i can get.

you asked our input when it seems that your mind was already made up. We tried to steer you away (pun intended) but go for what you know homie.:stupid:

Ok i do appologise if it seems my mind was made up, how about a tmaxx do they handle better? I just want a fast durable rig, and it seems to me rc10s break a lil too frequently for my liking

and i like the wide varity of parts availability, for the traxxas rigs

What exactly are you looking for? A stadium truck, or a monster truck? I have a T-Maxx too and I love it. The new ones are very powerful, and handle better than the old version due to the different shock mounting locations and longer A-arms.

just go buy your brick. You will like it. It doesn't suck its just not as good as other models in the same price range. I like my T-maxx but it is a 4 wheel drive MT so no without serious money into it it doesn't handle as well as say my buggy but they are apples and oranges.

I was looking in to a stadium truck due to a friends opinion, i wanted a tmax but he said due to 4x4 it sucked so i was researching want kinda truck i wanted due they make a 4x2 max?

do*

If you get a monster truck definately get a 4x4, a two wheel drive monster truck will not go the places a 4x4 will. If you go monster I would recommend a T-Maxx or Savage.

If you are looking at a stadium, as far as I am concerned there are really only two choices, The RC10GT or the Losi XXXNT. Don't waste your money on a brick, if you even think you are going to race it. They DO NOT handle well at all, if you want to drag race it go for it. If you want to turn don't buy a Rustler. Buying the wrong RC as your first RC can kill the enjoyment of the hobby for you. But like Humboldtblazer said, it looks like you have already made up your mind on the brick. Before you buy one though look at the results from ANY sanctioned RC event or national, you will not find one brick in the winner circle, you will however find plenty of RC10s and Losis.

i personaly am leaning toward a maxx, whats is the diff from T maxx and sport maxx

One other stupid question, is there a way to lower a tmaxx a friend of mine has an emaxx and spends alot of its time on its roof

I own the older t-maxx and there a blast. the new ones are even more fun due to the insane power of the 2.5 and a t-maxx has a two speed the sportmaxx does not. the t-maxx is 4wd the sport is 2wd a t-maxx has reverse the sport ONLY goes forward.

to the other ? and easy way to lower any car or truck is to have soft springs (like the red ones on an e-maxx/t-maxx) and put in a heaver wt shock oil. I use 45 wt for racing to keep it low and 25 wt for just normal bashing.

Thanks, i am looking in to all of your guys suggestions do anyone know anything bout rcuniverse?

Dont usually go there but...The sport maxx...in my mind..is a much better deal. Comes with exact same specs. but with out reverse. The reverse slows down the truck alot and it saves the weight of that extra servo. The fourwheel drive is a must. And the two speed is good TOO! Those two ups are the only difference. I'm not sure of how much you save but I'm sure you save money by doing that.

Sport Maxx is rear wheel drive. Has single speed tranny not 2 speed. No reverse in the SM. Different rims, different body but I think thats it. Whats nice about the SportMaxx in my opinion is your not paying for the extra stuff most of us take off anyway. Its real easy to put in CVD drive shafts and make it a 4X4 they just happened to be nice enough to remove one of those cheap plastic driveshalfs already for me. I think it is easier to set a SportMaxx to be a track racer a lot easier and cheaper than a T-maxx.

lol. Honestly.. I have to say this... My RC10GT is undoubtedly one of the most abused RC's in my area. Just ask NoviceRob :D

I have went throught some parts yes. BUT! Think of this. The first 3 gallons through the thing it probably cost me a total of.. What did I say NoviceRob? About 60 bucks? In broken parts. As for now, I have not broken a thing in the last 3/4th of a gallon. And when I go to bash, I bash it hard. The RPM aftermarket parts for the RC10GT make it VERY difficult to break, and they don't kill ANY handling characteristics. Only advice I'd give. The turnbuckle ends that are ballcups, mod them to screws, which I am doing when I get my paycheck. At my last race I came in 3rd with one tire steering because of those, but I've priced a fix, and it will only be six bucks for all 6 important turnbuckles :)

I'll say this too. I love my RC10 to death, and if you tune it right, and keep the suspension alive, you can easily ditch most other trucks out there. As for buggies.. Well that's a different story, most buggies are rude with thier horsepower :D But I won't say I can't keep up with them :) I can take a stock 2.5 t-maxx on tho. And usually beat it pretty good coming off turns especially :)

My vote goes to the RC10GT

Ok i have made a life altering change, after reading reviews here and else where i am purchasing a losi xxxnt, from what i have read it is one of the best( if not the best) handling trucks out there. It has plentiful aftermarket support and i found a guy selling an almost new one with hop ups for 260 delivered so i think, i made an informed choice, and hopefully be happy with it, thanks for the support and guidance( even if i need to be hit over the head a few times).

Good job! :) Just watch those RC10's they'll be fierce competition. :) RC10's and Losi's ALL THE WAY!

I have heard good things bout rc10's i even had an electric one bout 11 years ago(lol) but i just like the things i heard bout losi, thanks again for all you help
