What can you run touring cars on? I'm in the market to buy something. I have a TMaxx but would like something totally different. Is there an FAQ I should be reading? I know nothing about touring cars.

You can run touring cars on hard paved tracks , some can be used on normal paved roads without many cracks. Touring cars are basicly made to run on smooth-semi smooth surfaces only but some can be used on hard packed dirt with nubby tires. If you just want a touring car for bashing in parking lots and stuff, you DO NOT want to go belt drive cuz tiny rocks can get in there a mess it up bad, get a shaft driven car, i just recently bought an hpi 18ss off towerhobbies.com >> http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJKT2&P=ML
and I'm very happy with it and it has a ton of power and handles pretty good i hit around 60mph with mine a few days ago but i got some extra goodies like a pipe airfilter and some other stuff. There are no local tracks so i just set up cones and mess around in a parking lot down the street or on my street. Definatly a fun thing to do on weekends..

Bigsoul,
Can you recommend a good touring car for pavement, I have some cash and want to buy an r/c but not sure if I want to go touring or off road buggy. But I would appreciate some direction regarding touring cars. I have about 450. american. thanks

Hope this helps those of you trying to make decisions.

hugo if you just want a touring car for pavement like your street or parking lots id reccomend a hpi rs4 3 18ss because of the power and it can take some abuse its a pretty easy kit to assemble, i got one recently and it has tons of power and at around 305$ you will still have the money for other things u will need like a glow starter, glow plug wrench, radio, and fuel ( 20% is what you want) the rs4 3 18ss is also shaft driven so you dont have to worry about any rocks messing up the drivetrain.

hey there,

The nitro3 is a great basher....and basher only. If that's all you want to do, then go for it i've got one myself and I must admit they're fun for just taking to the park to zip around. BUT, if you think you'll ever get into the race scene, I'd say start with a NTC3...it's a good basher and you have the uprade and adjustability options to make it into a decent racer (and best of all being a shaft-drive....NO ROCKS). Good luck in your choice if you haven't made one already.
