New xmaxx max5 1650kv build

I posted this in another area but then found this..
So I just bought a new xmaxx and widekit, max5 1650kv, wfo mini mount and some other odds and end.. after installing I've noticed the gear cover had to be slightly shaved and I can't use the gear cover with some gears. ATM I have 54/18 and the cover doesn't fit. I also tried 46/18 but the adjustment bolts for the motor are hard to access. I'm looking for suggestions. Maybe someone has done this and has a better insight on it. I have a 23t and 24t gear coming and I'm going to try that . Is it safe to run the xmaxx without a gear cover? Does anyone have a good gear combo for this setup?

Oh, a lot of stuff. All we have so far is the plastic stuff. Basically, we still need everything on this list that isn't green.

Thanks it's been a fun build so far. I'm not going crazy with Lil things just mainly wanted a xmaxx with good power
