i have the 5.9 and wondering what else can i do to it i put a jp-4 pipe on it is there anything else u can do to it to get more power or is there a bigger motor that will fit in i want this truck to rip open to any upgrades

Best way to get power out of a 5.9 is to sell it. Get an LRP .28 or .30. I have a Losi 454, which is rumored to be the same mold as the LRP .28 Spec 3. It's in my Ofna Mutilator, which is way heavier than the Savage, and only a single speed, and it's pretty fast.

Other option is a Picco.

The LRP30 is also a heck of an engine. LRP's are thirsty SOB's though. I have 2 LRP28S3's and one Picco 28. The picco is still in it's box (got it for a heck of a deal and couldn't pass it up) and the LRP's are in an aftershock and savage. Good little engines with decent torque, long life (if you keep an eye on the bearings) but they do like the juice.

Or you can go nuts and get an RB:

LOL

I don't know anyone that has an RB, but I've seen a few vids of their performance buggy engines and they sound/look to be in a class all their own.

That RB is for the most part a rebadged Novarossi (who also make 5 and 7 port versions of this engine). There are some subtle differences between the RB and Novarossi version of these two engines and not all parts are interchangable.

I've run Novarossi's for years and am currently running the previous generation Novarossi 528X - which equates the an RB TM928 - can't say anything but good things about either companies product lines.

i think i might give the RB a try

will i need a wheelie bar also haha i know with the 5.9 it jumps up on the tailgate sometimes if i hit it right

and does the RB just drop in or do u have to make some changes to the frame

so the RB is quicker than the 5.9 the rb is only 4.6cc's

Size isn't always how you rate an engine. :)

Here's a link to the RB: RB MT10 .28

Build quality and power output makes RB one of the better ones. For what I do, I wouldn't considering spending the $ on it. Less than $200 engines suit me fine. Although, from what I heard, they last a very long time if taken care of.

well once i get home from work I'm gonna play around with my 5.9 alittle bit if i can't get it running tip top i think ill try out the RB my 5.9 has just been a headache can't tune it for the life of me its only two weeks old and the only time i ran good the temp was at 340f so i shut her down and a guy at the track tried to help me get the temp down but no matter what needle we played with it would die anything over half throttle or even at an idle thats why I'm looking to upgrade to a new engine but i think i might just have an air leak so we will see

what about the LPR zr.30x can i run that in my savage

i want something that will push it to 65mph+ if thats possible something really fast that i can rip up and down the street and piss my neighbour off haha he hate my rc's lol

If you could find an engine that would push the savage to 65+ you would never make it there. the big tires ballooning out, the plush suspension, slow stock steering servo, and the general handling of the savage will cause you to loose it way before you hit 65.

I've heard good things about the O.S 30 and and axial .30 as well. If you ant to piss off the neighbor get an HPI ribbed pipe. They are stoopid loud.
