Starter box as Diver saidDon't go cheap as some of these high end engines have mad compression. Shop around for a good one.

could i use the controller from my t-maxx and just switch the crystals back and forth?

Yes, you can do that, but you'll have to have a reciever in both if you just want to switch crystals. Or I guess you could change the reciever back and forth but that would be a pain.

I don't know anything about that kit or engine, but after driving a T-Maxx any on road will feel like a rocket to you. They are very fast and turn on a dime.

could iget the kit and put it together then decided later what i want to do for the rest of it?

Yes, you can buy the kit, put it together and put on what ever engine you want, and trow in your servos.
