Hello all. I'm wanting to get a nitro car/truck. What would be a good car to start with since I'm new?

Well I'm new here to and I'll be the first to tell you that many guys will yell at you to use to use the search button so try that because many newbies have asked this same question. And depending on your budget I would say a traxxas tmaxx 3.3 if you have $400-$550 to spend. This is a great car because of part support and the upgrades that are available. Whatever you do stay away from the brand exceed and the website nitrorcx.com. The price may be appealing but they are nothing but a money pit with no part support. Trust me from experience. Have fun with this addicting new hobby!

ya i have to agree t-maxx 3.3 is the way to go and everyone has parts even ebay thousands of parts and they r 4x4 monster truck and u can bash the crap out of it

how much money to you have to spend now? and every month after? the cost of running nitro vs electric is a fair bit higher. so you need to decide now which way you want to go.

ansmann virus 2.0 is a good intro into the nitro world apart from the crap manual they are tough look good and plenty of parts about and much cheaper than most 1/8 buggys with similar specs only the servos let it down but easily replaced if you ruin them or just get the big block version for metal geared 6kg servos and a bigger engine

I have been having a good time with my revo but you really need to understand the initial price is just the beginning. You can expect to spend hundreds of dollars over the next several months just fixing all the stuff your going to break as you learn how to tune, drive, and repair your new rig.
