I just got a Losi Mini 1/18 High Roller. It has a 7.4v 20c 1650mAh 2s lipo battery. I let the lipo sit on the charger over night. It is the charger with the truck and it seems like the battery will not hold a charge right now, is there a way to salvage this battery or should I just get a new one?

Pretty sure you ruined the lipo battery... Lucky you didn't catch anything on fire. They have a balancing cable that monitors each cell when you charge them. There are special chargers for lipo batteries.

Here's some good info on lipo's

so that is not a lipo charger? Damn!!!! I hate being new to this stuff

Looks really swollen, which is bad. Id dispose of it.

You will need a lipo charger, preferably one with selectable charging rates and balancing.

Thanks for the help guys. I think I am going to just steal a few parts from this high roller and part out the rest of it....

If you're gonna use a charger like that you need some sort of stand alone balancer but the better suggestion would be to get an actual lipo charger with a built in balancer that shuts off when the battery if full.

Heres one good budget charger that will not only work well but its pretty affordable too.

If you're really on a tight budget you could go with its older counterpart. HOnestly for 11 dollars difference Id get the 680 but if you are having a hard time swinging it this one will work also.

I also wouldnt just throw that lipo in the trash. I believe your supposed to cut the adapter off of it and soak it in salt water for a week or so before disposing of it. If you dont then you could potentially start a lipo fire in the garbage can/truck/landfill. Even a small pack can start a substantial fire....potentially anyway.

Just an FYI.

And just as important... STOP charging batteries overnight. It doesn't matter what kind they are, all it takes is for them to get hot, catch fire and now your house, barn, garage, shed, whatever is up in flames while you sleep.

Not a good move. Never charge batteries unless you can monitor them.
