Hey guys just a quick question... I am new to the nitro side or rc and just purchased a tmaxx 3.3. I read the owners manual and watched the DVD to familiarize myself with the truck. When attempting to start it the first time it rolled over and then locked up removed the glow plug and blew the fuel out of the head (rolled great without the glow plug) factory setting is 4 turns out on the high speed needle but mine will only stay running about 3 turns out. I am one complete turn into the lean side. Is this normal or should I take it back and seek professional guidance????

i assume by saying roled over you mean that the engine turned over and then locked up thats because the engine is really tight until its broken in you must turn the flywheel by hand to get it past the compression stroke and fire it from that point,as for the hsn 3 turns seems a bit lean where is your low speed needle set it should be flush with the outer ring also your idle should have a 1 mm opening.

If the engine sounds terrible or runs terrible during break in, it's just part of the process and will go away after its properly broken in. Don't worry if a lot of fuel is coming out the exhaust, that's normal. At least with every engine I've ever broken in haha :)

Heat the engine up with a hair dryer. Break it in with the heat cycle method.

+1^^^^

All my engines sounded pretty good during beak in, never had one sound or run terrible.
