I just got a set of rc4wd 1.55 rock stompers and classic 5 lug wheels...woo hoo!

The wheels don't use a hex, they are pin drive and here is where the problem is..when I installed the wheels they go completely pass the threads, so the wheel nut bottoms out before it tightens the wheel/

Any suggestions?

get out the dremal and cut some of the stub axle off. I do it on al my scalers if theres any excess thread sticking out. If you ever need longer threads you can just get some new stubs.

The stubs are not too long, the wheels are too narrow without the hex. I thought it would show in the pic but everything is black so it doesn't. When the wheels are on the pin the threads stop before the wheel nut gets to the wheel. I could put a washer before the wheel nut but that kinda defeats the purpose of buying a good looking wheel :\

Oh my bad, I read it to fast. Thats a pickle for sure without adding a washer. Is a black washer very noticable?

I guess I'll have to paint a washer black to try but I'm a little aggravated that I would have to do that to use them!

that looks awesome. hopefully it will work out for you. so when you gona send me them tires you had on it for my land cruiser kit? haha

oh yea, the truck looks good with the mud on it. lol.

For sure. I'm sure these were prolly fitted to some of their axles for a good fit and that was that.

Problem solved! Someonelse had the same problem and let me in on what they did.... I drilled about 1/8" into the back side of each wheel nut so they would go over the unthreaded part of the shaft and it worked great!

haha. they look awesome. and if you get rid of them before i decide to get some new 1.9 slingers, i will deff buy them bad boys from ya. they pulled great today in all terrains today.

If you decide to buy new the mud thrashers and the slingers are the same price but the mud thrashers perform a lot better IMO.

i love the tread design on them, but they look a little taller than the slingers. for this build them things need to be tiny the prowler xs also look awesome for scale, but dont seem like they would perform too well.

I decided I didn't want to mess with the non bead locks so they were sold and I picked up a set of 1.55 bead locks and finally had a chance to give these tires a try! I have read complaints about the center lugs being too close together but IMO they work very well for a scale tire, they did great in mud (even in 2wd), climbed very well on dirt inclines and OK on my pile of concrete block.
