Okay, I have a brand new in box Savage X 4.6 which I'm still contemplating selling because the nearest hobby shop is like 80 miles away. Anyway, so what batteries do I need. I have the fuel bottle, toolset, glowplug ignitor with charger. If I'm not mistaken all I need is fuel and a battery right? Sorry, I'm a newbie. From what I've read I think I need just AA batteries for the radio, and a hump pack with charger for the truck electronics??? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks...

Yes u need the hump pack or just 4 AA batteries u get better signal with the hump pack over the AA batteries and 8AA for the controler.. now that should all the batteries u need unless u have an electric starting system so u could use the battery for the roto start but it is not really needed i use a cordless drill to start my cars

Good Luck

I see, would I need a special bit for my cordless drill to use as a starter, or does the piece from the rotostarter work for it? Thanks.

nope the bit that comes with the roto start works ... did u get the DVD with the truck ?? if so follow the directions on break in and u will be fine .. I have had mine for about 3 weeks now and i adjusted it a bit but other than that the truck is awesome just make sure that the bolts on the drive line ( couple of set screws on the drive shafts before the tranny r lock tighted ) (BLUE) as they will vibrate out of the truck

Hope this Helps

yea a hump pack would be best, but you can get by on 4 aa batteries. 8 for the controller. did your truck come with a pull start?

dont sell it! there are tons of online shops, and most of the time when i go to a hobby shop they dont have what i need anyway. they tell me "we can order it for you" well no crap!! i can do that!

remember too that if u use a drill for the start up to make sure that the drill is in reverse as the motor runs counter clock wise..
