New Savage Transmission Wont Engage

Hello everybody. yesterday i got my new transmission in the mail. I got the regular savage x transmission replacement 2 speed assembled. When i unboxed it, it looks great and brand new like it should. I bolted it in place, but i noticed the transmission does not turn either shaft. I can spin the spur gear freely in both directions. All the obvious things have already checked out, yes the screw shafts are in both shafts going out to the diffs, yes my slipper clutch is brand new and adjusted to the right tension. I know it is something internal. I heard somebody say something on a different post about a transmission one way bearing, (like internal?). I really am doubting that I was sent a dud, it looks great, my next step is just tearing it opening and looking for myself. I felt the bolt heads where you tune the gears, those seem like they have a lot of tension and I didn't think it was those that needed adjustment. I just wanted to see if anybody could help me out before i go and open up my transmission. Thank you in advance.

i would say if you have a problem it would be internal for sure, if you can spin the spur gear freely in both directions without the truck moving, something inside can't be connected. id take the top of the tranny case off and check out how the gears are inside.

found out the issue. the transmission was sent to me without the pin through the shaft on the inside slot. simply grabbed the pin from my old trans, problem solved. THANKS!
