Maybe one of you other savage fanatics can help me here What is a good motor for my savage 25 I want one thats strong and dependable yet fairly easy to tune lol Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanx

LRP .28, easiest tuning to me by far, hardly have to mess with it once you get it set. It's very reliable and strong.

The LRP is nice but it is a fuel hog from what others say.

The cheaper but just as good option would be the STS D28M. They get great run times (almost 12 mins out of a 125cc tank) and tune pretty easy and holds the tune great.

Here is a short vid of mine ;) [ame]http://s282.photobucket.com/albums/kk267/samrsnow/sts%20savage/?action=view&current=MVI_1548.flv[/ame]

12 mins. on a 125cc tank with a .28 STS??!! B.S! Maybe with 2 feet of fuel line and a massive fuel filter.
VERY few race .21's make the 10 minute mark on 150cc's of fuel.
The LRP is a little bit thirstier than the STS .28, but not much. I have owned both.
A LRP with a stock Savage tank will go roughly 8-9 minutes, as will the STS depending on driving conditions.

I run a short fuel line to the carb with a pressure line that's about 20 inches long with a fuel filter on it. I timed it at about full tune TWICE running in the street going back and forth WOT most of the time and i got a little below 11 mins and 46 seconds each time. No joke.

From what I've read, STS's are very hit or miss, kind of like the axials. The STS 28's are less likely to be lemons than the STS 30's though. Again, from what I've read.

I've had an STS30. It was built well, but didn't run very good at all. I think I got a dud. Sold it for parts along with the axial I had on a shelf that was also a dud...

The LRP is a thirsty one though. Good engine but proffers a pipe that is a bit restricted. I have two and I thoroughly enjoy both.

my lrp lasts about 15 minutes with the stock tank, not sure how big it is. but thats probably cause its modded.
