I just wanted to thank everyone. I have been reading this form for a month and a half or so. And do to your influence I bought my first nitro RC, a Savage 25. 8-0 I will never play with electric toys again. I have a tip for other newbie’s if your truck dies ever time you hit the brakes. Check to make sure the servo horn is on the right notch on the servo. It took me hours of trying to adjust the idle screw before I realized the horn was lined up wrong.

Do they sell rebuild kits for the stock HPI servos? :opps: Yes, after 6 tanks I broke my first part. I broke a gear in the steering servo. I plan on getting a better servo for the front, but since that one is new I want to rebuild it and use it elsewhere. Also what is the best servo saver to use?? Thanks

Go to servocity.com and get the HS-5645MG Digital Torque. ($56)

OFNA MP Servo Saver is the best. ($20)

You'll never regret spending this $76.00.

Dude these guys are not steering you wrong here. The ofna monster pirate servo saver setup is probably hands down one of the best things you can do to your truck. You will be able to move your tires on carpet afterwords. Also here is a link to your original question. A metal geared servo is a great upgrade as well.

Man I wish hpi would have done a better steering servo. Man gears were destroyed in my first gallon of gas too. The rest of the truck is so top notch. Stupid servo Any way congrats on the truck, the Savage is friggin awesome.

If they made a RTR that was already fully hopped-up it would not sell that many because of the price. That is why you get what you get for an RTR. Then you hit the aftermarket for your hop-ups. It is more expensive in the long run but easier on the pocket book cause you buy what you want or need.
