i have a new revo 2.5 took it out of the box did the traxxas breakin.Thing runs really good but dont seem to have much off the line.Me and my buddy raced down my street with my other t-maxx witch is stock with the same 2.5 and it kills me off the line whys that?that t-maxx will ride a wheely right by me.I'm i doing something wrong?

have u tuned your low end yet i have a revo with a 2.5r and i can make it wheelie on demand and my temps run about 230. make sure you do the pich test and see if its too fat or maybe too lean

well i played with the low speed a little bit didnt really do much for it .didnt have much time a big strom was about to hit so it cut the day short.all try it sunday rain should be gone by then.i know it has more power in there just got to find it.but I'm really new to this and need a few pointer's here and there.so if you got more advice for me all shut up and listen.

well first off the revo is not made for pulling wheelies but it will if setup right also if your revo is stock you have alot more gears to turn inside you tranny then the maxx does also it take more gas then it says it does to break in but dont worry it will wake up and when it does youll know it right away also always remember to put your piston at bdc(bottom dead center) anytime you are not running it and after each tank of gas if you dont plan on running it right away. if you have anymore ????? just let me know i have both trucks but i love my revo

thanks i didnt know about bdc.the remote kinda went haywire dont no how it happend but foward is reverse & reverse is forward on that red switch.Ever seen that or no how to fix? what are some good hop ups??

you have to change you little switch on the bottom of the controller to make it change also they best upgrades i did was p2 rocker, trininty pipe, red pushrods, tires, foward only, close ratio gears, and thatsa about it for me but all i do is race not bash. also if you read your manual it tells you how to change your channel setting if you dont understand my way

How much fuel have you ran through it? Just because your done with the traxxas "break in", doesn't mean the engine is giving you full power yet. You won't see full power out of most engines until you have run at least a gallon through them.

That being said, my revo seemed a bit sluggish off the line as well when I first got it. It was used with 1 quart run through it. I was easy on it for another quart. I dropped the CB to a 14T, upped the spur to a 40T and drilled the stinger out about 1mm on the pipe. Now it will pull wheelies in the grass pretty easy. But I have about a gallon through it now.

Well my Revo want pull a wheelie but I can smoke a Tmaxx off the line and then some:) I do how ever have the FOC and the motor is a lot more broken in.

When you say drill the stinger out....do you just find a hair bigger drill bit than what would fit in the stinger? Just to make sure I'm not drilling the wrong thing lol Is the stinger the tail pipe of the exhaust...the part where the smoke comes out?

Now I'm not sure on the gearing, do you know the stock gearing of the Revo?

i have about 1/2 gallon in it.I'm going to play with it some more today.See what i can get it to do might do that forward only.dont need reverse it will go over just about anything.who know's might even shoot for my first race lol.they have a "newbie can't really drive class" ?supermaxx do i need the forward olny like off the s-maxx or do the have one for just the revo?

they make a foward only for the revo and do what olds does and run a 14/40 for gearing i have the same gearing for racing but i have the close ratio gears also for the short tracks that i run on try it you should like it

Yep. I don't know what drill bit I used (size wise), but that's all I did. Don't go too big and mess it up though.

I think stock gearing is 36/15 but I'm not sure.

drilling the pipe really made a difference? i might try that then i got nothing better to do today. i just put an OS18TM on it yesterday i was looking for a recommended pipe to go with it

Seemed too. Made it breath a little easier. I'd like to replace the stock pipe with something a little more "open", but I don't have the cash... or the "need".

well i got it to run alot better.it did somke my t maxx of the line.but i lost that little black gear in the tranny that drives the auto-shifting so I'm down tell monday lhs is closed on sunday.all get the 14/40 set you were talking about and try it out!

try the trinity or the traxxas resonator pipe. i know the resonator will wake up the .18 and the 2.5r. i'm actually STILL trying to get a day to take some video of both engines with the stock vs. resonator pipe. been trying to get that together for 2 months now...
