new RC'er questions on Revo

I bought a nib Revo 3.3 about 3w weeks ago and on 7th tank of fuel slipper clutch pad broke & fell out. Question is, Is this a rare thing? Called Traxxas and they sending new part free. Also grany shift sevo has a catch in it mid way in its cycle. Should I call Traxxas about that? What parts should I keep on hand as spares other than plugs and A arms?

i would think your silpper had to be loose to fall out as for the shift servo the same thing happend to mine you can call traxxas i bet theyll give you a new one but i just took it out and i dont worry about reverse. i have had my revo for a year and a half the only thing i have replaced was headers twice and rebuilt the fuel tank twice and now my con rod split and i have to fix that. they are very durable trucks

Most replace their reverse assembly with an FOC just to make for a stronger trans and less crap to maintain.

Instead of buying replacement arms, buy RPM arms. Also RPM axle carriers. I run RPM true-track on the rear and RPM normal arms on the front with RPM axle carriers. Much more durable and runs larger bearings. The tru-track on the rear ditches the need for the toe-in turnbuckles. One less thing to wear out and break.

Keep exhaust headers on hand or buy the spring mounted one that isn't solidly bolted to the engine. A much better option over stock. Allows for some give when the rig is bouncing around. The stock one cracks and your day is over. They cost $20 to replace. I broke 4 before they offered the spring mounted one.
