Got my new O.S. 18TM installed and broken in. Tuned it up and man this thing is fast. The guy at the LHS had put a 40 tooth spur in it thinkin' it would be cool with this engine. The wheelies were fun for about 5-6 times, then I got tired of flippin' the truck back over. This thing may give my Mayhem a run for it's money. :w00t:

:dancin: cool! I just got a O.S. .18 TM also, but its still in the box, I will get it running thursday. I am a little shaky on the correct break-in proceedure (what you say, I got spoiled with the traxxas dvd).

I just basically did the Traxxas break-in, but also followed what the O.S. book said about leaning it out an "hour" after each tank for the first five tanks. At first, I thought something was wrong with the engine as it would barely go about 10mph, then as I leaned it after each tank it went easier. I did have to lean it out a little prematurely cause the temps wouldn't go over 180°. On the 7th tank, I tuned it up. This thing is getting faster with each tank.

what fuel you runnin in that thing? I hear the traxxas 20% or 30% is good.
I also have a 40 T spur gear on mine.. you recommend going back to the stock 38T.

I'm runnin' 20% Traxxas. I think I will put the 38 back on. It's fast on the top end with the 40, it'll be faster with the 38 without wheelieing so bad.

didn't really pay attention to how many turns out I was. I just made it run really good. I think I leaned it out about three quarters of a turn from stock using Traxxas 20% fuel. I ended up finding an air leak in my fuel tank and had to replace it. Ever since then, I haven't been able to get it to run all that great. I think my LSN is too lean. I don't have that great of a top end anymore and my temps are up around 280, so I've been hesitant to lean the HSN anymore. I will be switching to 30% sidewinder fuel in the next few days and will retune it then. Also, I saw a Revo at the track last night keeping up with the 1/8 scale buggies. He had a 16/36 gear combo with an O.S. .18TM. I went to find those gears today, but my LHSs didn't have them. Will have to wait for them to come in.

I've heard great things about the O.S .18, I want to get one for my T-Maxx it should be a huge differance since right now its the original .15 maxx motor lol

new os18tm

i'm having a ball with mine,i also have the trinty hi-flo pipe and i switch to a 16 cb no wheelie but it does roll over a lot

I've been trying to figure out what all the rave has been about the O.S. 18TM because mine didn't seem to be as bad azz as what I've been reading .... until I realized it had to be the Big Joe tires so I put the stockers back on ....and....... YEP ... it shitz and getz now!!

It's still very fast with the Big Joe's but it wouldn't do serious wheel stands ....
or should I say .... flip over backwards :marshall: ....... I'm diggin it

Thats wierd, I've got two revos both with OS.18tm's one has the stock wheels the other has 40 series rims & Big Joes. I can't hardly get a wheellie with the stock wheels while I can barely keep the wheels on the ground with the Big Joes. I just thought it was a traction thing. I have the pushrods in the one with the BJ's in the highest setting and the one with the stock tires in the lowest, that might have something to do with it too.

Have a chance to race against other revos w/ TZ's or BB conversions...or RB motor?

I got my OS .18tm about a week ago. It will flip the revo on its lid in an instant.
I think its time for some type of wheelie bar..

Does anyone know where to get a good wheelie bar or how to make one?

Would like to know what CB, Spur gear and transmission gears everyone is using with the OS18TM.

I have just installed and have broken it in but have not been able to get the wheelies to happen at all. I do not mind but would like to see if I can. Have about 2/3 of a gallon through the engine.

I am running stock clutch bell and spur, have updated to FOC with 40tooth close ratio. 25% nitro, LC3 plug, orange springs up front, gold rear, 60wt oil, stock pistons, stock pipe.

Thanks for your help,
K

I've heard really good things about the tm but what about the new pico .26 or even the collari .30.

Anyone know where to get a header for an OS 18tm???? I need a header pipe BAD for it....
