Just picked up a MoNSTeR GT and have broken her in alrdy, just have to tune her now. I must i say that the MGT is a very nice truck but deffinetly not as tough as my SaVaGe .25 i can tell just by comparing the 2 and the sav is alot beefier. Gonna baby my mgt and do some hard bashing with the savage.

Just dialed her in and shes running very nicely, still running on the rich side cause i wanna break her in some more. Other then that i like the way the MGT handles at the local RT, took the jumps and landings wiith ease..1st upgrade is gonna be a new OFNA polished muffler and integy shocks..then when i get my Picco .26 for my SaVaGe, I'm gonna toss the .25 in the MGT

Link for the Shocks $99 u.s, best price I've seen so far

Has anyone done business with these ppl?
I'm in Canada and want to make sure i get my items :)

Thx in Advance

Bah! OFNA muffler is to big for the MGT as is the Hot Bodies pipe from the SaVaGe. Anyone know of a good aftermarket dual chamber muffler for the MGT that fits? MGT muffler is shorter and not as wide as my SaVaGe's ..

The Cvec pipe will work nicely and lowers the exhaust tone!!

Thx jon2 feels good to know that i am not alone with my MGT lol
Cvec? heard of em, have a link by chance or part #?
Thx Mang !
I just installed a Golden Horizons Cooling Head and noticed cooler running temps right away. Great Buy!!
Tossed my Big Joes from my SaVaGe on the MGT and wow what a difference in handling, have a hard time rolling her lol
Here are some Pics..

Here we go again, i broke the steering Block Doh!! wasn't even a hard hit but oh well. I have to wait till monday to get a replacement or i think i may upgrade to an aluminum pair. Plastic is 9 bucks Cdn. and the aluminum 45 bucks, should i go for it? seems like it may be a weakpoint that i should stregthen. or should i just save my cash and buy an extra set of the plastic?

Any Feedback is appreciated

Thx in Advance

Well after some thought, i ended up going with the aluminum GH Steering Blocks, this will for sure get rid of a weak point on my ride. ill try and post a pic once there on :)

I have the picco .26 on my mgt and the side exhaust header with an ofna tuned pipe. the one thats on the ofna titan. You can see a picture of it in the "monster truck section labeled racing or bashing pictures. This works pretty good unless you wont to keep the rear exhaust.

Thx for your feedback poncho, after some searching i found some pics and i am gonna go with a side exaust header and an OFNA Dual chamber muffler. Also looks like the weight distribtution would be more balanced that way. problem is i dont know what header will clear the drill start part of the engine.. any suggestions?

Thx in Advance

BTW my Integy piggybacks for my MGT arrive next Friday !! Woot !! can't wait ! alrdy blewout a shock lol

I'm getting mine from my LHS after i told him i was gonna buy em online cause no LHS carried them around here($99u.s). The nice guy he is, he ordered a pair for me from his supplier @ roughly the same price i was gonna get em in the u.s for ($129Cdn)...Glad he did, saved me the s/r + duty so in the end there cheaper..If your in the Toronto Area check him out for integy shocks + kits and many other items. he doesn't carry them in stock but can order a set for you..
Best of all! hes always there to answer your questions, return emails and great support throughout your whole rc experience..

cool mang ! i have a ae factory header for a side exaust and the factory team aluminum steering upgrade on order too, can't wait ! post some more pics when u get a chance. i just picked up a Hitec programmable HS 5945 super high torque servo (180oz. @6v .13 sec) that i was gonna use in my savage but decided to toss it into my MGT. I'm using an Airtronics MX3 FM radio and reciever for my mgt but i found the stock radio wasn't all that bad for a RTR

Yeah. I think I'm gonna toss the stocker radio in my Tmaxx.
Let my son play with it, so we could bash together.

Nice! wish my father was into RC when i was a kid lol

The only RC that was around when I was a kid, was RC Cola.

Man...you are old =devil

Nice new ride. I am sure you will enjoy it...and that "new" T-Maxx is gonna get shelved for sure as soon as you fire this thing up.

i have a pending trade with the maxx already.. see what happens.

Ooops i did it again ! lol Just got back a lil while ago from the local BMX track after a Hard Bashing session (Big Air) and broke my rear bumper, not the plastic bumper itself but the screws snapped that were threaded into the plastic that holds the bumber to the braces leaving half a screw in eachside broken, bent my roll bar, broke the pullstart for the 2nd time, this time the cord tore @ mid point ! gotta fix that. Mashed up my body pretty good too lol, roll bar is tearing through the roof of my truck body!
guess 7 ft or more of air will do that to your ride lol
Heres are a couple of pics of the jumps
Can i use a stronger twine or something else that wont rip so easily?

They do make stronger lines, but I would be curious to know how you broke the pull start chord from a bad landing. Did it get snagged on something?

Sorry for not being more specific about the pullstart.
The chord ripped @ mid point when i was trying to start her for my 4th tank i didnt flood the engine either, it pulled easily and my ride usually starts 1st few pulls. i am careful with the pull start, it just ripped on its own, think its just a really weak cord. Should be an ez fix i hope ! never rebuilt a pullstart b4
