Excited now! bought a set of metal axles for sons Capra and converting to 4ws. The axles look amazing. Dead smooth.
The single small tiny issue was that, all, uh, they don't fit. The set uses a single upper links mount and no place for a servo. Came with the mount for servo (and they fit the axle) but tries to put the servo behind the axle and then the servo horn is 3/4" behind the steering link. Too far of a bridge to cross for me. Servo would be mounted ON THE AXLE, but above (like the stock mount) and BEHIND. So there will also be a need to cut the chassis to clear the servo during suspension compression. I could only find a single picture of theses axles with a servo mounted but not installed on the crawler. Should have caught that earlier perhaps. Axles are From AMK RC. Thanks to amazon (have no local shop in Portland, Or.) the axles are going back and I am now going with the MEUS brand axles. Hope those will work, I will up date when they arrive.
Wonder if I should try a builder type of thread for the conversion. Any thoughts?
