RC Driving Style
3 racing re-introduced their extended chassis and I've read they made some major improvements to them from the original. Anyone have or thinking of getting one. I think it's about 1 1/2 inches longer than the stock. I talked to one of my racing buds tonight and he sells them through his store and he said they seem to be just as solid as the stock chassis. I want to try it out and maybe even get the extended arms but I'm a little hesitant to do so. Mostly cause I wouldn't be able to use my quick turn or at least that is what I am figuring from what I've read about the extended chassis'. The QT really suits my driving style and I don't want to give it up.

Jet, I'm going to try just the extended arms, when Rob's gets them. I think that will be enough and still gives me the ability to shorten or extend the chassis depending on track situations.

That's my other problem is giving up the RPM arms. I'm so freakin' torn right now! My other thoughts are just to say hell with it and go truggy but I can't decide on one of those either!

i just installed the 3RACING 330mm chassis and it is longer in the front, it comes with a longer front drive shaft... i'll post i side pic and look at the space between the body and front bumper...

yea, it fit o.k.... 2 new holes in the hood and trim a little on bottom front, good to go :) ....

No offense intended, but that looks a little funky. Does it upset the balance when jumping or cornering under hard braking?

yea, it looks a little different but it jumps a lot better with the longer wheelbase, cornering i can't tell much difference, coming out of the corners the front end is more planted.... which helps me with the SIRIO .21 in it...a another racer i run with put an LST body on his and it fit the wheelbase better :ponder2: ........

I've heard that the longer front will hurt some on smaller tracks since you'll loose a little steering. What kind of track you running on?

Jet, if all the steering mods were made, would the steering angles be compromised at all with the extended chassis? Just a thought. Little brain can't see how it would, other than the longer chassis itself being a factor. (Cadillac vs Rally car wheelbase thing)

i race at 2 different tracks and they both have different layouts , one being jump after jump and tight turns, the other long jumps , big doubles and very rough rythem section...

1- it really shines on the long jumps and big double, i am not that good of a racer so now i don't have to be as precise with on the gas or on the brake when jumping, which helps me...it also does not get upset over the rythem section as easy as before...

2- on the tight track , i would say it has just a fraction less turn in the middle of the corner, but like i said i ain't no pro driver :) .. i would think that could be fixed with a steering mod and better suspension setup...

just my thoughts and views, hope it helps some...

3racing and vantage extended chassis for the revo

this is my first thread in this forum. so bear with me.....

when u guys talk about the 3racing extended chassis, there is concern with the front being longer. now, by reading about the vantage, i noticed it was extended in the front as well as the rear. is the 3racing chassis juss purely extended in the front and not the back, or was that a typo. thx for:sleeping: :whip:

Wish they would extend the rear, would like more room for the exhaust. running a picco need more room to get it away from the arm to.

I though about geting the vintage chasie for mine but i heard CF gives to much chasie flex. Thats my concern.
