Hello

Right i have a schumacher nitro 10. It is 14 years old. and has an osmax 10 engine in it. This engine is really hard to start but this isnt the problem!!!
If i wanted to buy a different engine say 12 or 15 size what would i need to buy? Would i need to get a new clutch and flywheel? Would i need to get engine mounts and would they come with the engine? The ozmax10 has a rotary carb so will need to keep this. The chassis of the car has 2 slots so i assume it will take a variety of engines.

Note, i have been given this car and as it is my first nitro i have realised it is different to driving electric so it is my learner. i will be going bigger better and newer at some point probably kit form too so could transplant the engine? i think the car is too small for a 21 though (shame).

This is a long post, sorry about that.

cheers every one.

smooches.

Well, take the engine out of the rig, take the clutch/flywheel off it and take a few photo's of it. Everything I'm finding shows that it's a plane engine... which I think most of our RC engines started as anyway.

Measure the mounting bolt holes as well. Will help us help you.

Will be interesting to see what we see in another 15 years... :)

Pretty sure the XTM is a slide carb and it appears you need a rotary carb. Can't tell for sure, too much gunk on the chassis to tell in a blurry photo how the servo connects to the carb.

XTM's are good budget engines though. I run a XTM 24.7 in my BB revo. Ok power, holds a tune pretty good.

oh god yeah, not the best pic in the world. sorry about that. will get a better one.
