new engine

well my engine is goin bad and I'm planning on turning in my 2.5 for a new 2.5 for $115 at my lhs. and i was wondering if there was another engine for the same price that will give me the same power but better quality or another engine that has more power for the same price.

about the engine exchange. But he was trin to ask about what engine he could get instead of the trx 2.5 that has the same power or more with better durabiltiy.....Nick

I thinking along the lines that his LHS is going to let him trade in his old 2.5 for a new one and an additional $115 which is $15 more than he would have to pay dealing directly with Traxxas. Kinda like is LHS is trying to jerk him around.

The engine trade in is a good way to save money. As far as an equal or better engine for the price, I'd say add a few more dollars and you can get quite a few powerhouses out there that would put the 2.5 to shame.

If you bump up your price range to around $150 you can get your pick from a very good bunch of improved .15 sized engines and some .18 sized engines that drop right in. Heck you might even be able to pull a small block .21 out of a hat for that price.
