So I recently bought an hpi nitro mt2 18ss and its already assembled but has never been started. I have read the instructions in the manual and on this forum and it helped. Not after about 20sec of cranking it will start and as soon as i take the roto start off it runs for about 2 seconds and abruptly stops and i have to repeat the process over but sometimes it takes longer. Any tips to help it stay running? Too rich maybe?

I have the rs4 3evo which is the onroad cousin to yours and I ditched the roto and went to pullstart because I couldnt get mine running for the life of me to breaki it in.. and honestly after putting in the pullstart I have no problem at all starting her right up for some reason.. still dont understand why just know the outcome... another good tip is your fuel line that goes from the tank to the carb, make sure that isnt ran anywhere near your clutchbell because on my car it was so I had to get creative and run a line a different way cause the clutch bell chewd a hole right through the line before I knew it, nitro everywhere!!!

check your idle gap put it berween 1mm and 1.5 mm .if you have a glow wand i would try to leave it on the glow plug and see if that helps.if not i then would lean the hsn 1/16 turn until it will stay running.

until broken in you really shouldnt mess with those to much... and I thought the gap was supposed to be .5mm or so????
