I am expecting delivery of my new engine today (O.S. .15cv). This will be the first engine that I have ever had to break-in. Is there anything special I should know, any tips or sugestions? I am sure the engine will come with break-in instructions, I just figured there might be some secrets of the trade that I do not know about.

Thanks

Read the instructions several times before starting it up.
Here is an article that will help as well.
Brake-in
  • Do not rush the process
  • Do not run wide open till the 5-6 tank
  • Do not try to over adjust the needles.
  • Check to see you are set to brake-in settings before starting.
  • Make sure your linkage and servos are set properly before starting.

yes, follow the instructions really good. they will be of great help. breaking in the engine is the most boring thing u can do with an r/c but, if u do it right u will have alot of fun with ur new engine.

After brake in is over 5-6 tanks, don't rush the tuning process. Continue to only adjust the needles 1/16-1/8th at a time every 1/2 tank or so until you get it dialed in. The only difference is you can run wide open for short blasts.

I found my OS didn't run at its best until around tank 20 or so.

18% ore more.
Most of the common brand name fuels will meet this requirement.
I never hurts to check.
