I was about to leave this afternoon when the Fedx man showed up. Boy was I happy to see him! He gave me my engine and then got stuck in my drive. I tried to help but he was burried to the axle. I was more concerned with mounting my engine anyways. Its ready to go now for the first time in about 5 months. I want to thank everybody here for all the help, suggestions, and opinions. Now if I can just figure out how to make the sun come up quicker.:D:D

Does anyone have any tips for keeping my filter housing from rubbing my spur gear? I have an ms filter and its not as bad as the stock but it still seem awfully close.

I hated the stock one using the integy gears cause everything rubbed so I rednecked one up with some rubber hose and a stock LST2 filter, ugly but very functional.:D

They will all be close to the spur gear. What I've done is taken the stock air filter tube and used the MotorSaver filter housing on it. I glued mine but I believe it's easier to drill out the MotorSaver filter and have it fit the tube like the stock set up. Since the stock tube routes the filter to the side it won't matter what size spur you use, it should clear just fine.

This sounds a little like trial and error. I wonder why the geniouss at Traxxas didnt solve this problem before the revo mad it in stores. My stock filter on my last engine rubbed a big hole and by the time I noticed it, it was trashed. I will try sticking the stock housing on and see if that looks any better.

I got the motor brke in fine. Checked filter, no holes. Tuned and jumped a couple of times, HOLES! This is irritating the crap out of me. I've got $100 in filters alone on this thing. I like the truck a lot, but this has to stop. HELP PLEASE!

I tried using a stock tube w/ motor saver filter and its working ok so far. If I only had about an 1/8" more I wouldnt even worry. I guess for now Ill keep checking it constantly. I had great fun jumping a 5 ft rock pile.

My MotorSaver tube, which had the bend in it for the Revo, to clear the spur gear; ended up grinding through the tube because my motor mounts were loose and it was moving up and down a little.

That exatly whats happening. I locktighted all the screws and its helping. Just keep checking them I guess.

I've also cracked a motor mount on the Revo as well. The locktite should cure the problem with the screws wanting to back out. If it doesn't, make sure you haven't cracked the aluminum mount somewhere. Mine was hard to find until I removed the engine from the rig.

I'm glad I'm not the only one breaking motor mounts. This is my 3rd. The first one stripped out and the other broke. Its still doing pretty good today. I only went through 1 tank of fuel. Had to help someone move. I've been hunting servos today and I'm wondering what you guys think about the HiTech HS5645 for steering?

Not a bad servo for the money. A hair slow, but that's ok for the revo if your a basher. Will probably be faster than stock and have better holding power.

I'm sure you're already doing this, but make sure the 4 screws that secure the mount to the chassis are not overly tight and tightened in a star pattern. Using locktite is a must and you don't have to crank them down to the point where it might crack the mount.

I was looking on towers website and those servos say that they require a radio that I dont have. Does that mean anything? I've got a Spektrum.

MrClean, I'm trying to be carefull and at the same time save my mill. I think the main problem was the two adjustment screws. I got so frustrated yesterday that it might have cost me one more mount. Ill look it over tommorow or today I guess. Thanx for the help.
