Hey guys so mine and my buddys 3.3 are getting real tired. No pinch very hard to start and keep running. I'm lookin for a little more power than the 3.3, but a direct bolt in, stock exhaust and everything. What engine would you reccomend. I am running on a semi- short track so i would assume I'm looking for something with a descent torque rating. Any suggestions?

ok, do u have any personal experiance with the Dynamite .19? If so u think it definitely has more power than the 3.3?

I haven't run one personally but haven't heard anything bad about them from folks that have. I've had an O.S. 18 in my 2.5 Maxx. Best running engine I've ever dealt with.

is that the os .18 TZ turbo engine with the rotary carb Or the OS Max .18 CV-RX w/11g Slide carb

I would choose the O.S.21 over the OS.18 for the extra torque, but I woudn't trade 1 new O.S .21 for 4 new dynamite .19's if you get my drift;) There is no comparison between the O.S and Dynamite engines as far a quality/workmanship.

And yes, I have owned all 3 engines.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Revo/OS .21 combo. Plenty of power, easy to tune and uses the stock parts from the 3.3. That would be my choice.

What all do i need for the o.s .21? How much customizing is involved. And can i bolt the ez start on it?

the dynamit engine does not come with an exhaust manifold, and the stock one fits like poo.

just really torn on what to do, i would like to go the O.S route but have two many bills to pay that much right now. Then i thought about doin a piston and sleeve in mine but i also need a head, and thats about 75-80$ for those two. But i can get a new 3.3 for $85 without the carb. But would sure like the extra power of the o.s. Guess I'm gonna have to think about it a little more. What do u think?

Yep. Its a tool I've seen for sale i believe on ebay and it fits around the outside of the sleeve and you tighten down around it and it re pinches it back to the new sleeve pinch. I'm not sure if you need different tools for different engine sleeves but would imagine you would. Then as long as your piston and rod are ok should be good to go a bit longer. Also i was looking at that 3.3 without carb for $85 free shipping myself. Not a bad price at all but the pinch tool is cheaper. But reliability of a whole new engine sounds better imo.

I've never heard of somebody being successful repinching their own sleeve. It's certainly something I would leave to the pros. Just because it's only $25. I would at least wanna get taught how to do it by a pro before trying. Seal that engine and preheat it before ya run it. Throw some fast eddy bearings in it if you really wanna a little edge over other 3.3's. You'll at least gain a little longevity and an easier to tune engine.

i should preheat with a heat gun b4 the initial start up? Sorry for the dumb questions but this is just my second break in ever. I read all the stuff about the heat cycles and have sealed an engine or to b4, but sure dont mind any tips and tricks from the experianced guys on the site here. Should i use any extra lube in the cylyinder for the intial run?

After run oil is fine or even fresh fuel. I like to pop the head and back plate off and rinse it out with fresh fuel to get rid of any debris left over from the factory. You'd be surprised. Blow the excess fuel away, clean the sealing surfaces with nitro cleaner and a rag, then seal er up. Preheating the engine expands the metal, taking stress off of the internals.
