A 1/12th scale replica of a two cable 2 cu. yd. OWENS Clam Shell Bucket Grab has been added to the accessories of my P&H model crane. The bucket is made of steel and brass and weighs in at 5 pounds, which is pretty much to the 1/12th scaled down weight of the full size 8,500 pound bucket. Check out my recent addition at:
Thanks for watching🎈

Tom, your builds are second to none my man. Amazing as always! I wish I was your neighbor. I'd be hanging out all day long bugging you while building these amazing machines!

Absolutely amazing. I am clearing a spot for a crawler course and scale house. I could use your services. 🤣🫠🙃
Chubaka,
Thanks for watching my new video. Yes it really digs great, as with the 6 part closing line, only 1/6th of the bucket's 5 lb weight is pulling up, leaving 4.2 lbs of downward digging force!

WickedFrog,
Thanks. Yeah, we ALL have our PASSIONS, mine are my family first, then my model crane!

That's really amazing! Very cool build! Camera in the cab, wow. Thanks for sharing this! How many channels are active on the transmitter? How many servos?
332_RC,
Thanks for your positive feedback.
I actually used my galaxy cell phone laying on the boom at it's base to record the bucket closing closeup videos.
I use a Spektrum DX8 Tx set up in the drone mode to control three each dual Dimension Engineering brushed ESCs that operate the model's six brushed motors. I also have 2 receivers binded to the TX, one for the upper endlessly rotating cab and one for the lower crawler assembly.

332_RC,
BTW, no servos at all in my model crane.

Really awesome!

Thanks CertifiedMike. Yes, I actually was impressed myself how well it works. I researched long and hard on the internet for the spec/dimensions of the OWENS 2 cu yd bucket, so I therefore cannot claim that it's successful operation is a result of my design 🤓
