i just got my violater, a glow igniter, glow plug, and rotostart... I've turned the motor over so much about a half tank of gas has been poured out the exaust pipe... the fiddlesticker wont start... the roto start started smoking cuz i was turning it over so many times...

i went to the manual, and it said 3 1/2 turns out on the hsn... i adjusted it to 3 1/2 and it wont start...

i need help badly, i was gonna go to the track on sunday (tomarra) :(

I dont know what to say man maybe ur rotostart isnt powerful enough or maybe u got a dud engine or somtin. I just got my new mayhem 2 friday's ago and it started the second time i pressed the rotostart button.... that is probubly all i can think of if i doesn't start maybe u should take it to a hobby shop if u havent already done that cause i bet they could tell if somtin was broken... well thats all my advice its not much and it is probubly not right but there u go... thanks! :hammer:

check your glo ignitor battery and make sure the batts are full. Charge your roto start battery again, make sure it is full also.

TRy and lean the hsn to 3 or even 2 3/4. The break in settings on my hyper 7 were 5 whole turns out but i new thats thing would never start so i started at 3. Started up the 4th pull. Also this is comething you might want to do. I do this process everytime i start a engine for the first time. Take the glow pulg fully out and drop a few drops of the fuel your useing into the glow plug hole. Then tighten the plug all the way. Next back the plug out 1 full turn and leave it. Remove the airfilter and drop a couple drops of the same fuel into the carb. Now grab a blow dryer and heat the engine to around 200F. Turn over the engine a couple times to get the piston lubed so it will be able to move more freely. Attach the glow heater and when the engine fires up just tighten the plug with the heater until the engine is warm enough to idle and tighten the plug all the way. good luck and be patient. Once the break in process is done your gonna be so glad you didnt just quit and give up.

yeah... I'm pretty sure its the "factory settings" not being correct... i live in the bay area, its like 75 degrees, and it rained yesterday, so theres quite a bit o humidity... oh and I'm useing odonnels 30%... how should i tune accordingly, i know i will richen it when i tune it for preformance, but break in richness is pretty thick..

Take the glow plug out and put it on the glow heater, checks your battery in the warmer and the glow plug. I am no expert however i found early, that before i go to some one else i will have a go. You are certainly getting plenty of fuel through, if you are going back to basics dry the engine before you put the glow back in (turn it over with the plug out, watch out for fuel comming out of the plug hole,it may get in your eyes) . reset your mixture setting on your carb and also check the needle for crap.Cheers.

is it even trying to fire?
does it just turn over?
if it's not trying to start it's the plug or ignitor 99.9% of the time...and if your spitting fuel out when it's trying to start it's the LSN I'd lean like an hour...just to get it started...then screw it out to where it was once it is....

yay, i got my violater all broken in yesterday, i was too busy to respond :) but it was 3 turns being way too rich... i had to go down to 2.25 turns to get it started, and it was so rich it would bog, but thats what i wanted a little of to break it in. now its a little leaner since i broke it in, but still havent put my temps past 200, next weekend ima go to the track to tune it... until then i go to work mon-fri
