i heard placing small washers on the outside of the pads will lessin the gap? causing better stoping in the stuborn savag brking we all no to well. Has anyone tryed or heard of this? Any:D other suguestions would be great i have tryed and heard of some
 
Do you still have the single break disk or do you have the dual fiberglass ones, maybe the dual stainless steel one?

Just be aware, any drop of oil on those fiber ones kill them. I've had to tear mine down a few times due to over zealous oiling/waxing of my axles. Now that I have them cleaned up and scuffed up, they work pretty good.

On a side note, anyone know what those little washer shims are for? I didn't put them on the last time I tore it apart and mine works fine.

what washer shims i bought my truck used do you maybe know something i dont???I'm trying to get this thing back in the dirt! only good thing about that is I've made a sweeeeeeeeet track. so down time aint all that bad..lol:)

Yes it does work. It puts the front most pad closer to the brakes for quicker and harder braking. The problem is that when you do this you also increase the chance of the brakes pulling the two brake screws out of the case, but I doubt that adding a shim or two could highly increase this. I would probably just upgrade the servo to a high speed and torque. What brakes are you using? I once had the SS dual brakes and the Savage would flip when I hit the brakes. I switched to the fiberglass ones because of the lifetime factor. It's all about preference though.
 
I didn't put those shims on either. My brakes still work perfectly fine. I thought they were to bring the last pad a bit closer to the brakes for faster and harder braking.
 
i just have the stock ones the truck dose not stop at all unless i adjust them so tight their is friction on the wheels when i turn them
