Maybe a dumb question but should i trim the body b4 paint? I would think cutting afterwards would chip the paint, but i have seen people on the site with uncut bodys they had just painted.

Yeap I always trim first and if I'm using body posts I get them drilled too and mount it before painting.

Yea I learned the hard way to do this, when you dont trim first, you can't really see the cut line very good afterwards and I kinda missed the lines A LOT on my first body. So I would say to trim first, and cut the body post holes.

I say trim first, especially if you want your body mount holes in the right place!

Wow!! Had no idea what the trimming process was like. How do you guys with experiance do it? Like for instance the square hole in the back, i tried the exacto but it just was not cutting it.And i didnt have the body cutting scissors which would have been alot easier for the main part but made do and it came out all right. All i have left to do is cut out for the roll bar. Sure do have some learning to do in this area:\ One more question, what does everyone clean the inside with to remove the oils and dirt b4 paint?

To clean the inside, just some soap and water. And I have also heard of denatured alcohol to clean your hands, and the body with right before to make sure you definitely get it clean. Just basic soap and water will do though. Thats what I use and the paint has lasted almost a year for me.

I always trim and completely fit my bodies before painting. Then a good wash with soap and water, then a wipedown of da, then, and only then shall I apply any paint. If the lid is for a customer, I do everything but the body posts and cooling holes, but it is still trimmed and cleaned prior to painting.

Do NOT use rubbing alcohol, denatured alcohol ONLY!

Thanks for the clear up NC, I also edited my post so I didn't mess anybody else up. I didn't really know there was a difference between the two.
