RC Driving Style
Hi i read already the top part of this forum and i learn new thing i should keep in mind at the time to get my car as well.
But my question is what brand of car is better to start with? I want to get a 1/10 scale still not decide if a buggy or regular chassis, what engine are betters?
And i know its to early for this question but: can i put a .21 or .28 engine on a 1/10 scale car?

No matter what stick to the name brand cars. Hpi, Traxxas, losi, ae team associated name brands ect. off brands are cheaper and save money from the start but will cause you more problems down the road then they are worth. If you want a buggy get a 1/8th scale. But if your wanting something more versatile get a truggy. Most 1/8th buggys come with a .21 but you can put really w.e you would like to put in it. For choosing a model/type of car you should first think to yourself what am i going to do with my car. Am i going to the track to race or am i going to just be bashing around the yard. If your racing on track what classes do they offer do they have restrictions all that good stuff. If your going to get on a track you should go to the track and get a rules and regulations sheet which should have all the classes they offer. If your just a basher consider the area you have to run on type of terrain. Let us know and we can help you with some good choices on cars

As far as engines go all rtr motors (engines that come in cars) are ok but will only normally last around 6 gallons then you will either start seeing problems or have a worn out motor. O.S., novarossi, and picco's are at the top of my list for motors.

i just want a car for now to chill in my back yard still not decided what will i do, but i want a car and something with power but no too expecive, so you guys recommended me a 1/8 scale? if i get a buggy can i put a shell of a regular car later or just buggys shell?
and about motor i was talking about i get bore of a stock .18 that car i will buy will bring and i decide to purchase a .21 or .28 and i just can swap it in there or this is not posible?

not sure i understand what you mean there. are you meaning bore a .18 to a .21 or .28 with a new sleeve or what. and with a buggy your only really going to put a buggy shell. If your just bashing around the yard i would recommend a truggy or a mt (monster truck) Buggys are fun and fast and less expensive but you can't do as much with them and they dont take as much abuse. buggies are meant for the track where its basically flat dirt running besides jumps and woops. I know i got bored with my buggy just bashing around the yard. love my t maxx, revo and savage tho. Trust me tho man spend a little more money and get a good rc it will pay off in the long run with parts support and dealer support

If you want a cheaper yet name brand buggy or truggy check out the Kyosho Neo spec buggy or truggy which already comes with a .21 or .25 engine.

Kyosho Neo buggy .21: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product...dy-Set-1-8-Off-Road-Buggy-w-Syncro-24GHz-Blue

Kyosho Neo buggy .25: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product...f-Road-Buggy-w-KE25-Syncro-24GHz-Radio-System

Kyosho Neo Truggy: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product...Scale-Truck-w-KT-201-24GHz-KE25-Engine-Type-1

Like stated above though, if your just going to mess around with it and do random stuff a monster truck is your best bet. A buggy or truggy will work for bashing too, but monster trucks are made mainly for bashing. Check out www.amainhobbies.com for the brand names monster trucks I list below:
Traxxas: T-Maxx, or Revo
HPI: Savage
Kyosho: Mad Force Kruiser
Losi: LST
Team Associated: MGT

In terms of monster trucks though, my personal preference of Associateds MGT is not very good. I know 3 people who own them and theyre constantly breaking parts. I know about 4 people with a Savage and they seem very very sturdy, but 3 of them I have seen issues with having to replace spur gears. Get steel spur gears. I own a T-Maxx and I know many others who also own them. Personally I'm not a fan of Traxxas based off a bad history with them including 2 fires due to electrical malfunctions, having to replace trannies 2 times, and a ton of run aways due to the same electrical issues. Turned out my radio transmitter went faulty on me. I know many others that are very unhappy with their T-Maxxs but I also know a few who are very happy with theirs. Same goes with the Revo except I hear more compliments than complaints about them. Either way I see it, if its Traxxas replace your electrical ASAP (servos, reveiver, and radio transmitter) also add a fail safe system to it. I would never run my Maxx without a fail safe system. As far as the Kyosho goes I currently dont have any first hand experience with one, but Kyosho is a high quality company and the Mad Force Kruiser has great reviews. The Mad Force also comes with the largest engine I listed (.25) making it pull wheelies on command as well as a good electrical system with a 2.4 ghz radio transmitter that looks like a great quality radio. Last but not least is the Losi LST. Another one I know a few people who own, but it has more compliments that I have personally heard than any other monster I listed with far fewer complaints. I own a Losi and it is very nice and handles very well, but at the same time I'm not a fan of it because it doesn't fit my driving style. Either way you go, anything I listed will be a good choice.

I understand you guys and i really appreciate your comment i will keep that in mind when looking for a car, my bad luck to buy before i read this, i already order one just to star its a 1/10 scale it small it was some cheap and i want to learn with this first and with all your help of course, it has a 15CXP .18 engine, 4wd, 2 speed tranny, oil shocks, and its brand new when i got it i will take engine out and seal it, also do the braking in how its explained on one topic here, its a rtr so.
Also i got a question the glow starter? How long it take to charge? How i know i didnt overcharge it?
Sorry for too manny question from a noob, thanks you guys

I think the engine he mentioned comes in a Smartech. Most people that start with a cheap knock off brand give it up because they have nothing but trouble, do yourself a favor and buy a better RC!

Well i got a discount from some seller on this i just got it for 120$, if engine gives me problem i just switch it, i would like that more than any other thing.
In reference of glow charger, how i know its empty, and i should put to charge around 8hrs right?

well only spending 120 bucks on a new car isnt to bad at that price its pretty much disposable. But When you decide to get something new get you something good thats gonna be worth your money and time. And there really isnt a way to know if its empty besides putting it on a glow plug thats not in the motor to see if it glows bright or not i keep two glow ignitors on hand. I charged them both when i got them overnight and i use one till it wont start a car or until its hard to start then i switch and charge and keep that cycle going

okie thanks for the info and yes i did get this one for only 120$, i though it wasn't bad for that price for me to learn and start, then whe i got more experiense with this will buy a bigger one and better one. thanks to all of your for opinions and help.

RedDot: Where are you from? From your typing I think maybe you speak French? If so I am in Quebec and if you are close to me I would love to be able to help you out. I live in Laval if that is anywhere close to you.
