When it comes to nitro RC I am pretty much a noob. It all started when i was 11 and i got an electric stampede. then when i was 11 my brother got a nitro rustler. He sold that and i just bought a T maxx off of ebay for 310 it came with everything but fuel and a lot of upgrades. So i was wondering if there is any tricks to the T maxx like what can it handle any parts i need etc. Your input is greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Hello and Welcome to RCNT!

First off, you should search our TMAXX FORUM as there is plenty of information to help you there already. There will be common upgrades to do so it would be a good idea to check it out.

Congrats to the purchase and welcome!!!

It would also be helpful to know what upgrades you already have.

The only maxx suggestions I can give you is to stay away from integy parts. They are cheap for a reason. The other suggestion is to keep the maxx as it was intended. Do not put a big block in it. You will spend more than a new maxx costs just trying to get it to handle the power. I wouldn't go any larger than a decent 18 or the TRX 3.3.

The list is long on the maxx as to what you could replace.

When I had a maxx, the things I broke most often were shock towers, bulkheads and arms. I replaced the towers/arms with RPM and I should have used Great Assemblies 7075 bulkheads, but I used another brand and quickly regretted it. The New ERA 3 point roll bar is a must if your a basher. Great roll bar. Does its job protecting the engine well.

After adding those parts, the truck will be tougher, then you can deal with performance things like a nice fantom works pipe, better steering servo (hitec 985MG would do nicely), pro-line steering kit and ditch reverse with an FOC.
