The roto-start went out on my Savage, and after reading some of the things that go wrong with them, I've decided to replace it with a TigerDrive system. In case you haven't heard of it, it's a shaft starter system that's pretty durable. It's made for many different engines, but I can't find any Hobby Shop that sells it for the 21BB. Does anyone have a place where I can get one?

I found it, but I found out that it still needs a one-way bearing. I wouldn't have bought this truck if I had realized that I'd have to spend so much to get it running. I need a pullstart, but that's gonna cost about $50 with the one-way bearing. I'm thinking of just trading my 21BB for an S-25 from HPI through their engine exchange program. Doesn't anyone know of a reliable starter for the Savage? It's really frustrating.

Pullstarter is the best way to go honestly. Honestly dude it's a big block you are going to chew through one way bearings once in a while. I know I have been frustrated with my savage more than other vehicle I've owned however I have also been the most rewarded with the type of bashing I can do with it.

Sometimes one ways are like luck of the draw. Some will seem to last forever and others won't make it but just a few tanks before you have to replace them. Just be sure to not try to start a flooded engine and they'll last longer.

I think I'm just gonna go with a pullstart, but I don't really wanna spend $50 for it, so I'm buying an O.S. .21 RG-X with a pullstart.
