Is it safe to replace the rubber expansion boots on the shaft of the drive axles and keep using the axles? My other passion is 4x4 ATVs and I know in that realm if you puncture or tear a CV boot you might as well replace the whole axle. The T Maxx boot isn't for a CV but it seems like the same principal.

Its a slider shaft, realistically you dont need the boot to run if your a basher, in a pinch though you can use a baloon over that part of the shaft if being clean is your thing

That all depends on your budget dude, give us a number your willing to spend and how much power you want combined with the amount of upgrades your willing to throw at it,

the sky is the limit with these things ,if you try and do this hobby on a budget good luck....
it's like an illness once you start you can't stop lol

I thought the TRX 3.3 was supposed to be a powerful, bulletproof little booger? Maybe I heard wrong. Are the power differences between the 3.3 and a dynamite .19 that different?

Also, do people race T-Maxxs? If so, is a .19 race legal? The main reason I ask is that I'm a lone backyard basher. Don't really have any nitro buddies anywhere nearby so if racing is the only way I can get out and meet some folks and run it somewhere besides my 1/2 acre yard and my neighborhood street then I may need to keep my options open.

The Dynamite .19 is the best way to go at $109.00 shipped. It's a direct replacement for the 3.3 and 2.5 maxx trucks. And you won't explode your factory drive line into shrapnel after a couple tanks. The other engine is the Ofna .28 can be had on ebay for $154.00 but you have to buy a diff engine mount. And you would need to upgrade your driveline for sure.

Anybody from San Antonio? Lol.

Lol I just bought a bunch of stuff.

-RPM front a arms
-stock front axle carriers (stupid cheap on ebay)
-stock shock towers and body mounts front and rear (also stupid cheap on ebay)
-turn buckles since all 4 on this truck are tightened all the way in and I don't like that
-4 new axle boots
-the truck already had a hump pack battery in the receiver but no charger so I got another battery, charger, and power switch so I can have the pack in my T-Maxx 2.5 also and be able to charge the pack in this 3.3.

I'm sure I'll order some more this weekend (paycheck). Probably an RPM True Track rear set up and a different cooling head.

I also have another question. The truck didn't have a transmitter with it so I ordered a Traxxas 6517 2.4 transmitter with a 6519 receiver. Will I need anything else or have any trouble making this work? The truck has "OptiDrive" now and this stuff might as well all be in Japanese to me. Thanks again for all the help and input.
