.....Will all of the 3.3 parts work with it or are the 2.5r parts different....Thanx for any help....

Thanx...Thats a load off my shoulders...This is my first build, second truck, and I'm only 13....But I'm guessin it will done it likw 1 month....It gonna be like 95-100% aluminum....

Should be nice. Post up some pics of it as you go.

So... why are you asking? Do you have a bunch of 2.5 or 3.3 parts but the opposite chassis? Is it a 2.5 chassis or 3.3 chassis?

The only real differences between the two are the fromt center axle and steering linkage as far as fitment is concerned.

I had put a 3.3 chassis on my 2.5 revo and those were the only non-direct swap parts. The front is longer between the front of the trans and bulkhead.

I have a 2.5r chassis coming in the mail...Hopefully get it tomorrow...But I'm gonna def post pics in a new thread when i get the chassis and i am currently in the process of setting up a workbench with tools and trucks in my garage...I also got the approval to make my own track in my backyard...wont be for a while cause I'm only 13 and I'm spending all my money on the truck fro about 3-5 weeks....

Hey I'm new to this and i wanted to know the parts that i need to make the rear assembly..I know like a-arms, diffs, bulkheads, and some other,.....But can anybody like list all the parts i need to buy..No brands because I'm chosin between thick plastic or aluminum...Thanx

The best way to learn your RC is to download the manual and exploded views. Go over them and get familiar with the RC and how it should go together. You should be able to find the exploded views at the link below.

http://www.traxxas.com/products/trx_nitro.htm

Select which revo you need and you will see that tabs sheet the has parts list and exploded views for you to download. Here's a linke to the 5308 Revo parts list
http://www.traxxas.com/products/nitro/revo/revo5308/trx_revo5308_partslist.htm
and a linke to the 5308 Revo exploded views

The exploded views have the part numbers on them also. If you are unsure about the part number or what it looks like. Tower Hobbies is a good reference/library to check things out. Type in the part number and see what comes up. They usually have a decent description of what the part it aslo.

There's a lot of helpful users here, but you'll have a hard time finding someone to do all the research for your parts and make a list for you. Most of us don't even like doing it for our own rcs. lol

Good luck.

Thanx..I'm starting with the rear assembly, then front, electronics and then a motor..I want to a get a spektrum remote...what is the diff between a dx3s and a dx3r....

Is it worth it to get all rpm stuff in blue or get integy aluminum...I really like rpm

I think the dx3s has some added features. Like the semitry or something like that. The ability to read the temp of an engine or motor if you have the extra components installed. Maybe more to it then that. The DX3R has more bells and whistles then I've been able to use.

IMO RPM is the better way to go. Alum parts have there place in certain areas. Bulkheads, differential cases, stuff that is more solid and doesn't take a beating from impacts. Integy has a bad reputation due to arms, wheelie bars, shock towers, etc getting bent really easy. They do have a few items that have held up really well for me. I have a bulkhead for the rustler and an alum transmission case for the pede/rustler. These parts don't get abused like the arms and towers do. The plastic can break but it also has some give to bend a bit, and will come back close to the original shape. Alum once it's bent it stays bent, you bend it back it weakens it. Some of the off brand aluminum parts also have a fit problem. For example some cheaper offbrand carriers that are made from alum may have more slop in them then you would get if you bought the original alum traxxas carriers. The bearing may not fit as snug. I haven't had any problem with the Fast Lane Machane Alum parts. They have always taken care of anything I broke also. Integy doesn't have a warrenty once you touch the part or install it. Fast Lane has a great warrenty the same with RPM. Although the RPM part that I have broken I didn't bother with the warrenty. Just bought a replacement part.

Check ebay for your revo parts. You can get 4 of the 3.3 axles for a fraction of the price new, same with carriers, and .... Well all the traxxas/revo parts can be gotten fairly cheap for the ebay chop shops.

The main difference between the radios is the technology used in how they work. Both offer telemetry for reading temp, RPM and RX voltage. The DX-3s has a 10 model memory. The DX-3r has the newer and faster DSM2 mosulation and a 30 model memory.

I amde my first vid of just the chassis..I'm postin it in the video section on this site...go there and look for Custome Traxxas Revo....
